It's not official yet, but I've been told Guilford will open at Southern Virginia next year (instead of Ferrum) and will play Methodist in Fayetteville for the 2nd year in a row.    For several years now, the Quakers have been on an odd schedule of four home games one year and six the next.  This tentative schedule is an attempt to equalize the slate at five home and five away each season.

I'm guessing, but I anticipate

9/1 @ Southern Virginia
9/8 @ Methodist
9/15 Hampden-Sydney
9/22 Averett
9/29 @ Greensboro
10/6 open
10/13 @ Bridgewater
10/20 Washington & Lee
10/27 Randolph-Macon  Homecoming
11/3 @ Catholic
11/10 Emory & Henry

Make sure you get it in dark ink. SVU also scheduled BC and when they figured out how bad they would get beat, they tucked their tails and retreated @ mid-December. Just food for thought. ;)

I remember, Llamaguy.  Good point.  I'll pass that along, but I'm sure GC's AD has a good idea of what's happened to every other school in the region.  It's a pretty tight fraternity and when one school gets a bad deal they all hear about it pretty quickly.

Hey Skoal,
We are kind of like the Roaming Gnome at travelocity. Stone Station may just show up anywhere. :o

Great place to tailgate at CNU. That Captain club lot was really sweet. Thanks for taking the shot WCLegacy. ;)
Way to go Llama!  I love the pic!  You're right.  Stone Station is not just limited to just Bridgewater.  On to Salem!  Big plans in the works for the Stagg Bowl!  I can't wait to see what 2 teams will be there.  Stone Station will be representing the host ODAC well!

It's sad to see ferrum go off the schedule though. They have pretty much been a good game ever since we started playing them.

I agree, so I'm not sure about the complete impetus for the change.  I heard it from someone who would know, however, so I think it's a done deal.

Bored that your team isn't in the playoffs?  Yes, I am.

So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-galunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Check out the DNR article (Mon. 11/20) on Mike Clark giving his assessment on the future of the Eagles and the ODAC. Is he stating the obvious or is he posturing to lower expectations? Should be good for some off season debate.

In another article .... http://www.dnronline.com/sports_details.php?AID=7397&CHID=3

It seems D3 isn't the only NCAA playoff to get some screwy pairings.

I'd love to see the Dukes go all the way again.

CNU85

Llama.....remember when you get to the JMU game this weekend......you go to the left.....we went to the right at CNU.  ;D

IMO, the reason why we aren't as good as we used to be is because of the offensive line and linebackers.

Certainly not to take anything away from the talented group of OLs and LBs we have, but from 2001 to 2004, we had a combined seven All-American OLs and LBs.  Last season, we had one - and we will probably have none this year.

When BC came onto the national scene while dominating the ODAC, we did it with an amazing group of starters (Lutz at QB, Cruz at RB, Richardson at WR, Taylor & Parker at LB, Bailey and Friz at DL) ... in recent years, we've needed to win with depth and not stars.  This season we didn't have the depth because of the lack of experience, thus you'll get a "disappointing" 8-2 season.

I think Clark is being totally honest.  Most teams have to win with depth year in and year out, and not just a handful of star players.  We had those star players from 2000 to 2003, while from 2004 to now we've had to win more with depth.
