Is there anybody else from the ODAC going to the east coast bowl other than Frazier and Barnette from Guilford?

I would also like to say that this is impressive that they are going to the same all-star game because they are also from the same high school.

I would also have to say that the game was very fun to play in last year and was a great experience. The game now has more and more Division I-AA players there and it made it a real challenge and even better experience to see the higher competition.

Congrats to both of them!  They are only two of four Division III players in the game (others being a OL from Lebanon Valley and a DB from Kean).

Not sure how they pick the players, but it could be that coaches have to nominate their schools as eligible.  I'm assuming that seeing that E&H's Doss and/or W&L's Snoddy would be playing in it if so.

OK, kid, time for a new poll.  How about who will be preseason #1 in the 2007 ODAC Coaches poll?  List all seven schools - just a suggestion.  Thanks

I abstain.  Generally, I think some of these polls do little other than tabulate the number of posters from each school.  :)

...okay, okay ... but you've been warned that if (well, when) BC has the most votes, we won't know if it's Eagle fans being homers or if those who follow the ODAC are thinking the Eagles will be back on top in '07. :)

Someone private messaged me for where I found the East Coast Bowl roster ... so in case anyone else is curious, here's the link:

I'm very aware of that possibility, but thanks for creating the poll.

I see six Division III players on this roster. Pretty sad, used to be about 25 D-III players in the East Coast Bowl.

Yeah the game used to have a ton more DIII players. The game seems to truely be leaving its roots. Although the game is doing that I still like the fact they give the DIII players to play against some stronger competition and prove themselves against it.

I am excited to see how Barnette will do against the stronger competition.

I sure hope Mt. Union doesn't make the Stagg Bowl.  Worse yet would be Wesley vs. Mt. Union which at this pace might actually be very possible.  I just won't cheer on either one.  Go Llamaguy!  Go Snakehandler!  Down that Beer!

Not that a Lutz or Cruz or Richardson would have chosen a CNU over BC had the Captains had those facilities then ... but I think kids now-a-days put a lot of emphasis on facilities.  When they first meet Clark and Kelchner, they probably see no difference.  They see that both programs have made the playoffs.  But then if they see Jopson versus POMOCO ... bame!  Kids are sold (not to mention $26,000 versus $6,000 to go to the schools).

I see the point...well taken.... but it'smore like $15,000 vs $26,000.......I've heard that CNU is listed as the most expensive state (public) school in Va. I doubt it's THE most expensive, but it's up there....I KNOW that CNU is more expensive than W&M once you include tuition, room & board, and especially student fees - which are among the highest per student fee in Va. The student fees help pay for athletics!

Thoughts from an outsider:
Quote1.  I think he may be trying to send a message to his team and set a the tone for the offseason and next season right now.
QuoteExactly right. I know nothing of Andy Ropp, but I bet he is the hardest working guy on the team. BC still has talent on their team, but it looks like Clark wants them to focus on being blue collar workers when it comes to football instead of prima donas who think their ability alone will be able to get things done.

I just checked out Kid's site and saw the info about BC's KO team ranked 2nd in the country and I think people like Ropp had a lot to do with that.  I definitely remember seeing him make at least a few really good open field tackles on special teams and I remember him being involved in a lot more.  It seemed like every kickoff he was involved in the tackle.  You definitely want people like him on your team.

But, like I believe I've heard Clark say on the radio "Special players make special plays" (maybe not the exact quote).  We also need some special players to get back to that upper level nationally.

Well--I was going to say nice things to skoaltrain and llamaguy until I read skoal's last post--phooey on you.  I'm looking forward to going to Salem again in a few weeks--and I am looking forward to seeing llamaguy and olinemom--and all of stone street (except skoal, now)  Don't want to count my chickens, but. . . .

Who will you be cheering on, skoal?

Well, if your in attendance and your team happens to be playing yet once again I guess I'll welcome you with open arms.   ;) Seriously, I meant nothing more than I'd like to see someone else besides MUC but at the rate you guys have been going, I guess I'll need to get myself prepared for Purple and White.  I look forward to seeing you.

Hopefully we will be there!  See you guys (and women) then!
