I'll back you up Pat! Just enjoying his first golden beverage at about 9pm after a great day and 12 hrs of D3 football promotion. Thanks again man!  ;)

As will I.  True test of DIII football commitment.  Well-earned refreshing drink.  And I know a few things about Thirst Management. 8)

There once was a footballer Pat.
Toasting Cummings and goings, he sat.
A reverse, Pat spells tap!
It's a curse, on his cap -
A Clydesdale, a stein and a vat!
Another cute limerick for my collection.  I was so glad that you came up to the ball game!  Sorry I disappeared the last quarter and didn't get to say goodbye to you and allsky7 and Chris, Peggy and Brandon, but the Commish said to get the brownies down to the gate before the end of the game and once inside to stay so I did.  Thanks again Chris for helping me lug the brownies down to the field house!!  It would have been very hard to have made 2 trips.  Did you all see the video with Stone Station in it during the game?  I think it's on the OAC board.  I have it if anyone didn't get a chance to see it!!  Saturday was such an awesome day!!  It sounds like we have lit up a score of posters who want to return and keep the Stone Station tailgate a tradition.  I think that's fantastic.  Thanks for the home-made cookies.  I remember someone saying they were going to bring them, but  MEA FALTA--I can't remember who said it.  Llama probably does.  Thanks 70's and Kevin (loved the face paint!!!) --those buckeyes were fabulous!!
And thanks to all those who wanted to donate money or give money to a tip jar.  But NO.  We are hosting the tailgate.  The ODAC is the host conference and we represent Bridgewater College of the ODAC and it is our pleasure to host the best tailgate possible for our guests at the Stagg Bowl.  Coming, signing the posters' board if you're a poster, meeting people and chatting, having a great time, EATING, enjoying the day and the camaraderie, celebrating d3 football--pure heaven in December.  That's what it's all about.  Oh and jumping up and down in the stands and screaming til you can't talk until Wednesday (but I do tend to get carried away!!)
Now back to the jewelry making.  Haven't yet finished my Christmas present making!  Have a Merry Christmas everybody.  When does football start again?  It's boring without it.  (except that Peyton :D :D won Monday night!!)
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

skoal, sorry about the XBox man.  Maybe this year!  When I saw this picture I had to laugh for two reasons: 1) it's really, really funny and 2) I used it as a safety reminder in the printed notes I distributed 3 days ago to all the staff where I work.  lol

Out the door to finish our Christmas shopping with our new Bridgewater gear on, so Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Kevin and I. Thanks for the memories. ;)

To Llamaguy, Skoal and any other posters i got to meet at Stone Station, just wanted to let you know what a great time i had.  You guys did an amazing job and I look forward to coming again next year, but only if the Caney Creek Panthers are not in the State Championship!!!

Llama, i did have a scooter accident shortly after i made the trip back but am on the road to what I hope to be a healthy recovery.

Skoal, it wasnt confusion, i believe it was just utter satisfaction of good food, good beer and good lookin whitewater women!!!

Merry Christmas to you guys!!!
YOU KNOW IT!!!!

Just a quick FYI:

The most recent ESPN the Magazine arrived this past weekend, inside the front cover is ESPN's All-American Academic listings, Jeff Highfill is listed along with Bridgewater College.  Congrats again to Jeff!  Nothing better than seeing BC listed along side other major U's and Colleges!  8)

For those interested the ESPN Mag has Vince Young and the Top 100 Stories from 2006 on the cover.

Congratulations to Jeff for representing Bridgewater well.  This award proves there is more to D3 football players than just football.  As the quarterback, too much pressure is put on this guy to be at peak performance every week.  But guess what Jeff?  Next year you will be a senior and we expect even more!  Now we also expect you to compete for another Academic All-American award, too.

All sarcasm aside, congratulations on a terrific accomplishment.

:)
GO BC!

BTW, where are all the Washington and Lee posters?  Since it is off-season and you are the defending ODAC football champs, you should own this board.  Don't let us BC posters continue to control your board.

Thanks for letting us know it was printed in "The Mag" ... even though we've known about him getting this award since November 30, it's cool they ran the Acad. AA teams in their magazine.

I'm a loyal Sports Illustrated guy myself, but I couldn't resist going out and buying a copy. :)

I know this has nothing to do with DIII football, but if you didn't see the end of the Boise State and Oklahoma game in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl last night (and early this morning!), you missed a classic ending!  Make sure you watch it on Sports Center or on the internet.  To go from BSU up 28-10 in the 3rd quarter to a 43-42 OT finish was, well, unreal!  BSU'S 13-0 season and the trick plays they pulled out of their bag to stay in the game were what makes college football so great!

Pat Coleman

The way Boise State played straight-up with Oklahoma was impressive, and in fact, they built a 28-10 lead without trick plays. The highlights are misleading because they spotlight, as necessary, the three plays at the end, but it's not like trick plays were what kept Boise State in the game.

Thanks, Pat.  As you stated, they played OU head-to-head without gimmicks, so I wasn't clear enough in my description.  The trick plays only came in the last few seconds of regulation and in OT, but they were great!  I just like to see an underdog come through.  I'm sure almost everyone in Boomer Sooner country will disagree including all my friends with whom I used to work and visit on business trips to Frederick, OK, but for the rest of us it was terrific.  This game was another good example (to me) of why a national playoff system is needed.  :)
