I met Barnett in his FR year and you cannot get a second chance to make a first impression. He was assimilated in the BORG called GC-Q his first year. Good kid.

I even ate my words that he would not hang at the college level.

Bridgewater played King's in the playoffs a few years back.  They had a hell of a defense.  I remember it as the best D BC played against.  I recall we were fortunate to win the game.

I agree, pakownr97.  They had two All-American d-linemen that year, but I was equally as impressed with their linebackers.  Those were some big dudes!
Wasn't that the game with the "Divine Wind" at the end that blew away a FG attempt on the last play of the game?

Don't you put words in my mouth.

What I said was just because they played on a multi-racial team doesn't rule out the possibility that it could have been racial.

Pat that kind of statement reminds me of an old Flip Wilson bit when he would cry out "It must be racial!"  I would love to hear your reasoning to support the statement.

Are there a lot of Palestinians on the Guilford football team? Perhaps there are and I'm mistaken.

Trenches is trying to saw harmony among fellow football players of different races automatically means harmony with everyone of every race. I'm suggesting that that is not automatic and racial motivation cannot be ruled out based on the evidence he put forth.

Not sure what it is you're not following. You're a W&L grad -- you should be able to follow logic. :)

Therein lies the problem, your thesis makes no sense.  On a pratical level one doesn't have harmony with every racial group except ***.    That would be like somebody who likes all kinds of women except red headed skinny girls that are left handed.  Practically speaking that just doesn't wash, either one is a mysogynist or a racist or whatever, the abhorence isn't that sophisticated nor specific, it is  typically general and universal.

If you want to know what I think happened in a logical sense, two groups of mouthy kids got into it, and when the ass whipping happened to the one group it was turned into something racial as an excuse for getting their asses kicked.  Nothing more than whining in a PC format as an excuse for not being able the cash the checks their mouth wrote.

I'm sure by August this will all have subsided. All the battles will be on the field for the football players and in the cafeteria for all the students who wish their schools didn't have football players.  ;)

Not true as to what i am suggesting...if you reread, before the team question I stated "Guilford College is a largely diverse campus in race, religion, and ideas... these "12 students" involved... you claim they are all racists... Then why go to a college like Guilford?"

If you have such a hatred toward those with any sort of middle eastern hertitage, chances are, you've had those feelings for a few years now. One of the first thing a student not only recognizes, but is told about when you get to campus, is the diversity among Guilford College students. Many different "groups" are represented. Knowing this, knowing that you'd more or less be in contact with the group that you hate so much on a daily basis, why would you choose a school like guilford?

Like I said, I only posed those questions to get you thinking... Just to open your eyes to the possibility that the media hasn't covered every aspect of a case that is still a mystery.

...and now a statement to end all the stupid talk...
Someone who has some knowledge of the investigation said to me that even from the inside it looks like little more then "a fight between two groups of friends." All race related charges have been dropped.

As I expected, everything is getting peeled back and played down. Llama is dead on.. it will all be (more or less)forgotten by august and play on the field will resume in august just like last year, and the year before, and the year before that, and the year before that....

Nor did I say they would automatically have harmony with every racial group except ***. I limited my comments to the confines of this conversation. Why are you expanding them? Is it because your point doesn't work in context, so you're expanding out of context?

Just heard this week that a local recruit who opted for DII rather than HSC or BC has decided to transfer to BC.  He Lead the valley district in rushing from the fullback spot and is a punishing runner. He should make a great compliment to the returning back field. As a freshman he was listed at 6' and 205. I understand he was red shirted and will have 4 years of eligibility remaining.

I'd consider my source very reliable but outside of any official coaching staff. I expect the kid has the scoop but may not be able to report at this time.

All I can say at this time is that Coach Clark and Seth Hardesty have been in contact. :)

Bwana,

Yep, I believe it was.  "The Divine Wind Game."  I missed the "Ice Bowl" but I didn't miss "The Divine Wind Game."  Let's not talk about "The Divine Wind Bag" Bette Midler.
