How important is the quality of tailgating when it comes to recruiting?  Do the parents consider that at BC the parents are treated like gold at the tailgates, and eat better than a King in the days of Caesar?

Godfathers Llamaguy, Skoaltrain, Snakehandler/Hug/???, etc., when did Stone Station begin the infamous tailgates that our grandchildren's grandchilden will speak of long after we are dead?

Kid, do you have any stats comparing the records of the BC football team and the quality and quality of Stone Station food and beverage?

Also, no one has mentioned the effect "communion" has on Eagle football success.  How does the consumption of "Smurf P!ss" relate to Eagle victory.

These are the burning questions all of D3 football needs to know.

;D ;D

Now that is just downright funny!!  ;D ;D Another factor in the equation to BC's successful run. The H-S fans put on a pretty good tailgate too. Problem is, you can't get them from across the road over to where the friggin game is.  ::)
Just occured to me. I have been around Tiger football for almost 40 years. I have never been shown the hospitality like the Stone Station crew showed at last years Stagg Bowl.  :o
     GO EAGLES!!  :D :D

I appreciate the good comments but have said many times it is only because we enjoy the company of both home and away fans that we do it. It's no fun to tailgate alone!! We provide what D-1 tailgates can't, D-3 spirit and hospitality. I have seen many a D-1 tailgate larger than Stone Station but none I would want to join as an opposing fan. Yes we are Bridgewater fans but we don't forget we are all in this D-3 thing together! ;) D-3: For the Love of the Game & the Love of a tasty piece of chicken or pork bbq sandwich. :D

Amen Brother Llama!!!

I have a prime spot, grill, and willing to tailgate, but can't seem to get folks together.....i might just do it, fire up the grill and feed whomever walks by.

I'm back to D3football.com for another season!  One of the first things I see here are all the new advertisers on the front page!  Gone is Slick Sam's Used Car lot, replaced by Ford Taurus. ESPN is where we saw ads for the Brownsville, Texas Spanish radio station.  Healthy Choice is now advertising hereā€”no longer do we see banners from the Broccoli & Asparagus Food Grower's Association. Acceptance by national advertisers is a sure sign of success!  Kudos to Pat Coleman and his team. I hope the fees pay a lot more than the rent!  Now, back to the game...

Happy Sunday to everyone.  I was running on Guilford's track yesterday when Coach Kiesel and his staff were setting up scaffolding just beyond one end zone at Armfield.  I went over and chatted for a few minutes and Coach Kiesel said he felt the Quakers would be a good team this fall.  There is an intrasquad scrimmage later today and a scrimmage versus Newport News Apprentice in Greensboro on Friday, August 24, from 4-7 pm.  Man, I'm ready for some real games!  :)

All I ask is that you name your team after your favorite D3 team. Others have joined from other leagues but I hope to get a few more ODAC and USAC guys in the league for we all know each other better. Here is the information you will need. Hope you join.

League ID#: 9077
League Name: FANS OF DIVISION 3 FOOTBALL
Password: usasouth

Draft Type: Live Draft
Draft Time: Sun Aug 19 7:00pm EDT

Looks like we have at least one spot left.  Draft is this evening at 7:00pm, so if you want in its not too late.

Perhaps I got a little carried away.  I'm sure Llama anc Co understand.  :D I AM loyal to my teams. (AND my GF too!!  :D) Problem is, I have three to choose between in the ODAC and USASAC.  I am a  Tiger fan and connected to H-S. I am also a Ferrum grad AND a Maryville grad from back when the Fighting Scots played in the ODAC. I have been intertwined with the ODAC and USASAC for many moons.   8)
I must say that loyalty ONE lies with the MC Fighting Scots because I played football and baseball there. GO SCOTS!! As for the other two, it all depends on who is having the better season.  ;)

Quote from: SU97 on August 16, 2007, 09:53:39 PM[...] So what happened prior to 2001 that sparked the winning tradition and recruiting dominance that BC now enjoys?  It sure cannot be a "history of winning" prior to this century. [...]

But he would be the first to say that by 1999, even 1998, he had the "right" kids.  They were just young.  Also, if you look at the scores from the 1999 games, you'll see we were 13 points from being 8-2, and 5-1 in the conference.  But we lost those games because we were young.

And remember the whole reason I began this topic; winning is more important to a recruit than facilities.  It definitely wasn't our facilities that brought Jason Lutz, Davon Cruz, Matt Huffman, Lonnie Parker, and Ryan Bailey (all eventual All-Americans who played their first year in '98 or '99).

Mr. Barhart is correct. We were a blocked field goal away from losing to Bridgewater at home...I can't remember if it was when we (EHC went undefeated) or the next season, but the pieces for success were in place back then. They just needed to learn to play. They defintely were our most physical opponent in conference besides Catholic those last two seasons I was in school

I suppose it was Coach Clark who sold those players (and others) on his system and the potential of the program to be a winner.

That's it Llamaguy,

Let the Stone Station leaders sing of love, peace, harmony, "apple trees and honey bees and snow white turtle doves" during the preseason.  Then come Sept 1, the Eagles football team will give them a buttwhoopin' worthy of a scene in "Deliverence 2"!!!

Then the opposing fans can come to the Station after the game, drink heavily, and soak their wounds for the long journey home.

Now that's Bridgewater hospitality!

Bring it on!!!

Just kidding, but somebody has to end this lovefest and get some smack going.  C'mon W & L people, E & H people.

Hey 'Nova, can you Quakers talk trash?  Can't you sing the Coke song of peace then threaten to whoop someone?

Are there any Green Terrorizors out there lurking on "our" board???

Go BC!!!
