Looks like the ODAC board has reached the point where only a kickoff in less than 2 weeks can help!!!!

To anyone out there that hasn't seen or heard about the movie SHORTY, I highly recommend it. It was released in October of 2003. I saw the movie shortly after it's release but only recently purchased a copy. I have known Walter (he is Walter to me, not sure where Shorty came from) since 1973. Anyone that has been around him for very long can tell you he has a way of keeping you straight about what's important in life. The movie is from a Hampden-Sydney point of view but I think many of you on this board will see some familiar things. The bigger picture is about having a purpose in life. Not just those with a handicap but for all of us. Walter will be 61 in November. There is no doubt in my mind that his longevity is directly related to him having a purpose. This movie hits home for me for a number of reasons but I think you will find it incredibly moving even if you don't know Walter. Below is a link if you want to check it out.

Well, you just sold me, I just purchased a copy and will let you know what I think after I watch it. I'm an OLD SAP when it comes to watching movies, especially sports movies. I still cry every time I see RUDY or HOOSIERS.

I've seen Shorty.  It is a pretty cool flick, I especially liked it when the evil empire (BC) beat up on the good guys (HSC)  I'd like to walk into that diner clad in full BC colors when the coaching staff is eating lunch.

      Snake......the dastardly villian!!  :D

Hey Snake....don't tell anyone but they are secretly filming awaiting the day when the Tigers do beat BC. You saw how badly Walter took that loss to the Eagles. Well when that day comes, they will release the next Shorty movie called  REVENGE IS SWEET, BUT I STILL WANT TO CRUSH MACON FOR MY BIRTHDAY.  :D

Just as a reminder...

I've posted the "rules" and week one games for the 2007 ODAC Pick 'Em Contest.

Obviously, it's free to join.  There is no prize, other than your name in the lights (<< this line was stolen from Pat Coleman).

Ah.  It's that time of year again.  Time to return from a hot summer to chicken quarters and BC Football.  Pac, you should know that 3 lousy years do not tend to produce many trash talkers.  Thus we have Peace, Love and Chicken Quarters for another week.

Go Eagles!

I remember when the movie came out.  K-Mack and I ordered ours in June, but I haven't received my copy yet from Amazon, which I find highly annoying.  Maybe it's time for some hating on Amazon. >:(
