Never seen ONU. Will have to put them on my list if I am ever in that area. Matter of fact, not sure I have even been on the campus of any school in OH.
States with campuses I have visited: VA, NC, SC, WV, KY, MS, AL, TN, MD, PA, CA, GA, IN, DE, DC (Hasa, I know DC isn't a state  ;D)
Hey, that's an idea. How about tailgates in all 50 states?

50 GATES IN 50 STATES
THE STONE STATION US TOUR

...so bring your mates and brother Tate....and dog named Kate... on one of these dates...and don't be late... to fill your plate...with food that's great...because if you wait...you'll scratch your pate...and hate your fate.

Sorry folks....this is what insomniacs do at 4:00AM  :D :D

Course Llama & Co.....ya'll probably are already off to a good start  already hitting quite a few states.

Right you are Allsky! to date:
VA, DC (not a state  :D), NC, MD, DE, PA, IN, OH, and will add GA this year. Oh, and we cracked a bottle of Boone's Farm at a rest area in WV on the way to a gate, does that count?  :o

Campuses Stone Station has tailgated at:
ODAC: GC,W&L,HSC,E&H,RMC, and Catholic
USAC: CNU,SU,Ferrem
PAC: W&J, Thiel
HCAC: Hanover

FMFDOC Excellent first post. I am also a fairly NEWBE on the boards. I have to agree about the colleges and their facilities. Spent most of the summer looking at various colleges with my son who will be a Senior in High School. He is interested in several ODAC schools. What is amazing to me is how much $$$$ these schools are putting into their campuses, ie new buildings, fitness centers, upgraded athletic facilities, etc. There must be a lot of wealthy alunmi out there. In a way, it is kind of neat to be heading into college for the first time with all the upgrades to the schools.

BT....meant to say welcome to the ODAC to you in my other post.  Schools today really do not have a choice but to upgrade their facilities. It's not just about the education you recieve at a particular school these days. Obviously, that is still a huge factor but not the only one that comes into play. From my own personal bias, think of the WOW factor a new recruit and family will get when they walk into a new fitness center with top of the line equipment. This facility is geared toward all students and they don't have to go into the old intimidating weight room where  the football players are eating 100# DB's for lunch.  :D

Some other great stuff on the board I need to catch up on, but just to second allsky on this ... pretty much everywhere we travel to has fitness center that was built or rebuilt since at least the late 90s.

They are all about keeping up with the Joneses, and he is right about it being something for the student body more than the athletic teams (or at least 50/50)

If there are no treadmills, tracks, pools, weight rooms, racquetball whatever available to the student body, they are definitely behind whoever they are competing with for students.

Drexel is considered a beautiful campus? I'm a little surprised to hear that.

The beautiful campus thing is such a wide-ranging discussion based on what people appreciate, uniqueness, architecture, picturesque-ness, etc.

My favorite campus I've seen might be Redlands, but probably because palm trees and a clock-tower courtyard are so foreign to me.

Kmack - I do agree with your pick of Thomas Nelson (T-Nel as we called him) for an All-Time ODAC team.  Having played under him for three years, I can vouch that he can still do stuff in the weight room and intramurals that mere mortals only dream of. ;D  We got to watch film of him one time and he was nasty.  As for Emory reps on the team, what about Doug Reavis and Chris Miller as well?  Nathan Tuck (WR) was also pretty good at Emory.  Hands down though I think that Adam Dowe would also be a good pick on the D side of the ball.

Thomas Nelson's 4-interception game vs. Ferrum in 1996 puts mine to shame. I think he took two back to the house. All I got going for me in comparison to his game and the Scottie Brubeck 4-INT game for R-MC vs. Sydney is that mine came against an All-American QB and WR and high-powered offense.

But what's the sense comparing, they were all sweet.

Also, in '97 ... I think it was Nelson (maybe Gerald Jones) who was injured for a play ... which happened to be the game-winning TD pass with 13 seconds left.

Sorry ODAC'ers, but knee-deep in Kickoff and perusing other boards for the past week or so, I'm gonna be responding to a lot of old stuff.

P.S. Hampden-Sydney's campus is pretty cute in late fall, I'll give allsky that.

I still can't imagine why it wouldn't be better-looking with women there, but that's a discussion for another day.

"Cute" isn't the word I would use but from a Jacket, I'll take it.  ;D
As for women on campus, they are there...trust me. They are just not in the classroom.  Something that makes
H-S unique. Wabash is the only other (non military) all male school in the country.
Speaking of women on campus at H-S, did I ever tell my paper route story from when I was about 13 years old? (around 1976) I was delivering newspapers to Cushing Hall........Cameron Crowe, are you listening?  Stagg Bowl 2007/Stone Station for the rest of the story.  ;D And oh, there will also be some killer food and a pretty good football game that day too.  :D

Good stuff BC! Wish the ole Ball Coach luck from Bridgewater. We will be watching from VA. The Eagles seem to have a little something to reclaim and so far in practice it shows. Guess we will have to wait until we see it on Saturdays before we can call it real though! ;)

We met this gentleman during my son's visit to Bridgewater, I thought he was first class. I wonder how much his absence is really hurting BC.

It was mentioned in General Football and on the Daily Dose ... and I guess we just assume our Bridgewater fans are up on whatever's going on.

I've never dropped an f-bomb on the air. I was like 24 at the time, not 18. :)

ace

Did anyone see the E&H scrimmage yesterday? Any info at all?
Thanks,

tigerfanalso

I understand HSC is scrimmaging CNU today (8/24) at 4pm at HSC.
Certainly should give some indication as to how competitive the Tigers are going to be this season.
