GC Quakers scrimmage the NNA Builders today in Greensboro.  I'll try to watch a little and give a report.

Yes hasanova......for those of us who couldnt get down to lovely quaker land today,  definitely interested in your notes

The final score was 28-20 Builders with it being the expected GC passing and NNA running.  Vogelbach led the first two series for the Quakers and the team moved rather easily against the Builders Defense - two passing TD's - one, I think, for over 40 yards.  Vogelbach entered again in the 4th quarter - one pass for a 20+ yard TD.  In between, it was a solid running game for the Builders - with very few passes attempted.

GC played at least 5 QB's with #14 being somewhat effective in the #2 slot.  Quaker D looked vulnerable (again) against the run.  For NNA, QB #9 impressed me as did FB #20.  A couple of interceptions for NNA, but against back-up QB's.

If this was a real game with Vogelbach playing a lot more, I think he riddles the NNA secondary, but I am concerned about the Quaker Defense again - especially against the run.  Even though there are some weaknesses, I still think both teams will have good seasons.

But the big, burning question I have about this article is when did Rolling Rock move from Latrobe???  That's beer blasphemy.  Hey Religion Major, is this a sign of armageddon?

About 5 years after Schmidts turned on us!!!!!And sold out.. But K-mack you proabably weren't legal way back then!!!!

anheuser busch bought the brewery last year i believe. no longer is rolling rock brewed from the fresh waters of the laurel highlands. now it is in new jersey. i think they moved a sam adams-ish beer into this brewery

I saw most of the HSC vs. CNU scrimmage. I think CNU scored 5 TD's/HSC scored 4. HSC was w/o their #1 QB and #1 RB. Have no idea why. CNU has a good running game; average passing game; hard nosed defense. HSC was good on the ground (a really good freshman RB) passing game slightly below average w/o their top QB. Defense needs some work.

CNU has a good combination of size and speed and has the ability to run the ball right at the defense. Good size on the OL and several big, strong backs. Will certainly be a force w/i their conference. CNU looks good but not as athletic as the Bridgewater teams I've seen over the years.

Doesn't mean squat that they didn't play. Coach probably didn't want them getting hurt on some stupid play.

It may be nothing. Let's hope that is the case. Maybe they are just a bit banged up and Coach F just wants them 100% next week against Hopkins. However, not much point in having a scrimmage if you are afraid of your starters getting hurt. I think at the very least, they need to play a few series. Then perhaps get them out of there and see what the young guys can do.  8)

Just keep telling yourself that, eventually you will beleive it.

QB's were protected... wore "red" shirts. No one was allowed to hit them for any reason.... so I don't think the QB was held out of the scrimmage for fear of injury. Again, I have no idea why he didn't play but he didn't .
