Thanks for your response. We'll see what happens but Baylor sounds like a great place for my son both academically and athletically.

Not so good news on the HSC campus. I can't share any info at this time but the outcome of this situation will greatly impact the season.

Hello to Coach S. I hope he and your Mom are still doing well !!!

Spoke to a couple of my H-S connections down in Farmville today. The news is not good for Tiger fans. Just how bad remains to be seen.
     Snake....no smoke unfortunately.  :(

You have always been a straight shooter Allsky7! If you say something is up then I know something is up. Whatever the situation, I give my condolences to the HSC fans. Remember, no matter how bad it may seem, the games will go on and the new stadium will be rockin' regardless!

Peace

XBCDad,

Good to hear from ya!  It sounds like you're planning on making it to Jopson on Zattaday?  I will be there albeit up a row or two higher.  Will you be near your "usual spot"?  If so, I am sure we will hear each other.  Can't wait.  Stop by Stone Station before the game, if you get the chance.

GO BC!
GO BC!

When will this information become public knowledge?  I take it it's more than just an injury.

I think it's shady to come on here and say  "The news is not good" but not say what the news is.  If you can't actually say anything or confirm anything, then just leave it to yourself until something is official.

Not trying to be mean to anyone, but it just seems off the level to me.

I have no idea who Randolph-Macon is scrimmaging.

Hopefully we're working on keeping our national # 11 ranking as a party school going, though. ::)

Some things never change.

This is the place, when I was there, that expressed outrage because students under 21 weren't allowed to drink in public if they used Solo cups.

Quote from: kickerdad on August 27, 2007, 10:21:47 AMCoach probably didn't want them getting hurt on some stupid play.

I can see a coach not wanting that to happen, but I know Coach Clark doesn't hold back players because of that.

For the last six or so years, we have scrimmaged Hargrave Military Academy' post graduate team.  They always have 20 to 30 kids who have committed to Division I-A schools, but needed a year to get their academics straight.  So we've lined up against kids who will be playing at Auburn, USC, Oklahoma, etc., in years to come.  Huge kids.  But Clark sends all our best players out there against them.  And this year, our starters played a full quarter and a half.  We led 21-7 once our 2s and 3s started going in (we ended up "winning" 27-13).

Point being, Clark almost puts our players in harms way by scrimmaging a team with 6-foot-6, 325-lb defensive linemen or 6-foot-2, 225-lb tailbacks.  But it's a great way for our players to see size and speed we won't see all season.

Well,
at least until you make it up to Alliance.

In my experience, collections of great talent don't always equal great teams. We used to scrimmage Fork Union and play Chowan, and those guys were always a lot bigger and stronger, and they weren't much of a challenge. I imagine BC vs. Hargrave is on a higher level, but about the same thing. Good for a kid's confidence to dominate someone bigger or faster, and good for the coaches to let the players know if you do what you're taught, good things will happen.

David Letterman's Top Ten Reasons why HSC kept their starting QB and RB out of the CNU scrimmage.

#10  They took a day trip to shop for sport coats
#9    Overheard CNU during pregame talking about cheap shotting the star players
#8    Must think they will blow through JHU, they can use that game as a warm up
#7    They are holding out for plaid uniforms
#6    Hang nail
#5    Thought it was a road game, last saw them tanning at Va Beach
#4    Saw a guy that looked like Reggie Jackson in the stands, thought it might be Kmack scouting for RMC
#3    They didn't make weight
#2    Could'nt find their skirts
And the number one reason is........
That's Marty ball baby!!!

That's good stuff.  ;D

I've heard everything from Sugar Ray Leonard Ronnie DeVoe to Heavy D and Forest Whitaker ... I've never heard anyone say I look like Reggie Jackson.

I wish a little scouting was all it took.

Point taken. This is info that I think is of great interest (sooner rather than later) to followers of this board. I have the utmost confidence that my two (separate) sources are accurate in what they are telling me. However, anything more detailed (names, specifics) should come from an official source. Not sure I would call that shady or off the level, just cautious in order to be respectful of those involved.
I do not know if/when an official announcement will be made but since the Tigers open at home Saturday against Hopkins, I would think more info would be forthcoming soon.  8)

Well, according to the Game Notes for the HSC/JHU game this weekend, quarterback Craig Warnement, running back Josh Simpson, wide receiver Aaron Williams, and corner back Boaz Young-el, will not be playing.  All four were projected starters, and they aren't on the two-deep.

I guess why this is becomes the question.  Injury?  Grades?  Did they get in trouble?

All that really matters is that this WILL really change the Tigers' season.
