I do believe EHC is due to install the field turf surface in the next two years, along with a new field house, and visitor stands much like the home side - not sure when the other items are planned, but i think field turf is first.......

Big props for reply No. 10,000 by the way.

E&H was always good for providing a "Yep, this is Division III" moment since the vistors locker room was the pool when I played.

If we'd won there, I'm pretty sure I would've jumped in.

Shoulder pads float, right?

How 'bout them Jackets? Looks like we are seeing our signs, jacket lawyer!

Now if I ever finally meet Pedro, he'll think I'm a big ol' frontrunner. Par for the course though, everyone's your friend when you're winning.

(gets R-MC gear out of closet, un-books trip to Cortaca Jug for The Game week.)

Maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself.

I called the CUA win on the pick 'em too, just didn't have the nuts to actually make the pick.

How many TD passes did Vogelface throw?

Oh my!!!

Tipps ranked NCW ahead of BC in his ATR rankings. Llama - what color communion does he get for that?? Where's the love?

A three-point loss to Wesley in Dover is a lot more impressive than a 26-point win over McDaniel in Bridgewater.

I'm in agreement with Mr. Tipps' poll.  Bridgewater still has a lot of proving to do, IMO.

Well gang, NCW didn't do itself any favors vs. Widener today, so the 'water will probably move up. (assumes a win)

Makes that Wesley-Widener game look pretty good next weekend. Will check out the SRFP to see how you all approach that and interpret the results. They basically both beat NCW by 10.

Not only are you usually the higher seed at home, you also get the benefit of a clock that doesn't always work properly (Rowan @ BC - 2001) as well as multiple phantom pass interference calls in OT until the home team finally scores (BC @ W&J - 2004).

The other benifit of playing at home in the playoffs for football is the week's practice schedule.  Most playoff road trips take all day friday with the road team looking to squeze time for walk throughs in their travel schedule.  The home team can go about normal schedule.  Let's face it, the shortest playoff road trip that Bridgewater has ever taken was to CNU, approximately four hours away.  I will not count the Stagg Bowl because that was technically a neutral site.  Even CNU would have been an overnight trip, which would effect the week's practice timetable.

Good point about the home schedule, not so much about Bridgewater's playoff travel.

If one of the BC backers hasn't already corrected you, they were at Trinity (Texas) in '02, at Lycoming (Pa.) and at Mount Union (Ohio) in '03, at W&J in '04, at Thiel (Pa.) and at Wesley (Del.) in '05.

Wesley might be a shorter trip than CNU, it's probably close, but surely none of the others are.

any score from Bwater?

Games starts at 7PM EDT.

Live stats here when it does.

Thanks. Didn't realize there was a late start. Was wondering why I was hearing about the eagle's beatdown.  :D ;)

Hey, everyone.  First, congratulations to RMC, HSC, W&L and CUA for winning today.  E&H has a bye this week and good luck to BC tonight!  With Guilford's win, I think that makes the ODAC 10-1 versus outside competition - hopefully, 11-1 with an Eagles win later.  :)

I made the trip to Fayetteville today.  Fortunately, the Quakers scored 50 because all of them were needed to win, 50-47!  Both squads scored 7 TD's, but the Quakers were 6-6 on kicked PAT's and 1-1 on a 2-point conversion.  MU had a PAT blocked and missed one wide left.  MU was 1 of 2 on 2-point conversions, so this was the difference.

Vogelbach was his normal self - spreading it all around on mostly short stuff, but a couple of 20+ yarders for TD's.  Unofficially, I had him 40 of 60 for 411 yards and 4 passing TD's.  Vogelbach had two INT's today - one he deserved and one he didn't.  In the third quarter, he made a solid toss to a Guilford receiver, but the ball was batted up in the air about 5 yards where a MU defender had plenty of time to get under it.  In the 4th quarter, he floated one about 20 yards down the middle while he scrambled and it was short of the receiver and into the arms of an MU defender.  Weak, but hey if you pass 60 times and only flub one he was doing better than most QB's!  Number 16 also ran a 4-yard bootleg for a TD and handed off to FB Zack Bobak enough to keep the MU Defense slightly off balance.  I think Bobak had 56 yards and I know he had two rushing TD's.  Surry County (NC) natives Hagen Miller and Kevin Vaughn were both important keys to the passing game.  I know Miller had a career high 14 catches and a TD.  If you guys read this, I went to N. Surry HS and I think you went to Elkin and E. Surry HS, respectively.  Nice job!  Joe Joyner got it done as well with 9 catches and 3 TD's.

Today was Vogelbach's 7th career game (of 22 games played) for over 400 yards.  I have him with 81 passing and 6 rushing TD's at Guilford.  His total passing yards have to be somewhere in the 7500 range - and add another 2-point conversion pass today.  If he stays healthy, his numbers for 40 (or more) games will be unreal.

For MU, I am always impressed with RB Mike Hill.  He ripped one up the middle for 60 yards and a TD on the 2nd play from scrimmage and continued to batter the Quaker Defense all day.  I think he scored 4 times today and had something north of 180 yards rushing.  I was also impressed with Monarch sophomore QB Brandon Parks.  Methodist has a solid player here.  Parks and Hill will win some games this year for MU.  WR's Mularski and Doleman are also keepers, burning the GC secondary more than once.

Regarding abnrgr's question: the MU offense is quite good, but the Quaker Defense is still, in my opinion, average at best.  The GC Defense missed a lot of tackles.  A runner like Hill will give them fits.  A defender also gambled on a 2nd half interception attempt and got burned for a 71 yard TD pass.  We gave up big chunks on the return game - the new 30-yard line kickoff position is not helping the Quakers.  When we went up 50-40 with about 2 minutes to go, MU got about a 60 yard kickoff return which set them up for their final score.  Luckily, we recovered the inevitable onside kick with about a minute and a half to go by stacking all the "good hands" WR's on the left side.  From there, GC was able to run out the clock despite two timeouts by MU.  Surprisingly, Guilford did make a sneaky 15 yard pass to the right side during this drive, which clinched the game with a new first down.  I will give the Guilford Defense props for 3 or 4 key three and out defensive stands in the second half and an important INT by (I think) #2 Dan Presley.  Credit is also due the Quaker OL - Vogelbach usually has a lot of time to set up and I don't think he got sacked today.

I want to also give the Monarchs credit - they're a good team, but unless the GC Defense and Special Teams improve, the Quaker may need 40+ to stay in a lot of games this season.  The Quaker Offense can and will move the ball on anyone - and from what I saw today, they'll need to do just that!

See you at Armfield on the 15th for the Averett game!  Quakers are 2-0.  Peace

I think I saw a pretty good football team today down at H-S. They flat whipped Gettysburg. Maybe the best all around Tiger effort in a few years. The question is, how good is GC? Obviously you put up 54, the O had to be impressive but was very impressed with the Tiger D. The Tiger O was balanced. Sedlar was impressive throwing 4 TD's and no INT's. One an incredible Hail Mary to Drew Smith on the last play of the half.
I have no clue about King's next week. Guess I will have to pull up Kickoff 07.  ;D Anyone know anything about them and what the Tigers can expect next week? I tell you one thing I do know. Corey Sedlar would be my starting QB. ANYONE else would have to take the position from him through due process.
Congrats to the ODAC on another great Saturday.

'nova - wasn't today a perfect day to watch 150+ offensive plays and see 900+ yards of total offense?

hill had 33 carries for 184 yds and 4 td's...as vogelbach was the best qb mu will face this year, hill might be the best rb you guys face this year...he's a special player and has a real nose for the end zone

gotta disagree on the long td play, though...doleman was a good 3-5 yards beyond the gc defender and the only reason the gc defender had a remote chance of making a play was because the ball was slightly underthrown...if parks had put just an extra 2 yards on that ball (going into a slight breeze), the gcq defender had no chance...

the football gods were also with guilford today...they had 2 play calls that were just plain and simple bad decisions, which looked like brilliant decisions because they were successful - the first was going for it on 4th and 10 from the monarch 15, or so, with the wind at your back and up 7 (i think)...nobody in their right mind goes for it in that situation, but the quakers did, and scored a td...sheesh - then on the last drive, 2nd and 7 with the monarchs down to one time out and just 1:02 on the clock...and vogelbach throws it (and it's complete)!...an incomplete pass there means the monarchs could potentially get the ball back with around :50 seconds and possibly still have a timeout (if gcq went for it and threw incomplete on 3rd down) - honestly, those two plays are simply not smart football, but the gcq coaching staff looks genious because they worked out

unofficially, i had vogelbach for just 3 bad throws...in 60 attempts, that ain't bad :)...the kid is really special and i'm glad i got to see him play (missed the game last year while at the beach with the family)

if i were a def coordinator prepping for guilford, two things would happen...1.) i'd never sleep and i'd pull out all of my hair 2.) i'd ask myself "can they beat us going vertical and can their wr's get beyond my db's if we're physical with them at the line to disrupt the timing"

and 3.) i'd pray i was right on number 2, because that's how i think i'd try to play them...you're not going to win if you let vogelbach get into a rhythm and sit back there picking apart a zone coverage with db's playing 5-7 yards off the ball (or covering #10 with a middle lb who is 12 yards away in the middle of the field and a safety who is 15 yards off the ball, as the monarchs "tried" to defend him in the first half)...vogelbach is too smart and too accurate to let him get comfortable

narch.. one note... about gc going for it on fourth... in week  one they had some kicking problems, so it may have been more of a judgement call than you thought.

that is all. glad you got to see vogs play. even if you are on the opposing sidelines, he still makes you appreciate his talent.

...if it were 4th and 5 or less, i'd agree, but it was 4th and 10...you've got to kick that, but they didn't, and that was the difference between winning and losing, quite honestly

i am, too...it's one thing to read about the kid on this site, but honestly, he was better than i anticipated...and i had pretty high expectations - he's by far the best d3 quarterback i've ever seen play in person (i only saw elliott and adamson on tv, so they don't count) - i felt like i was watching our version of peyton manning...he's so calm and poised and he makes the right reads and releases the ball quick...he's a stud!

by the way, i'm watching the springfield/union game on d3cast right now...it's GREAT, and the sharpe kid is a pretty impressive qb, as well :)

But a bit of a different style than Vogelbach. :)
