Good morning all.  How many Tiger fans are heading to Greensboro for tomorrow night's game?  If you need any directions or you're looking for places to stay and dine, let me know.  I'll be in the reserved burgundy seats right in front of the press box, so I hope to meet some of the posters from GC and HSC.

Hampden-Sydney's had our number the last few seasons, but I'm hopeful this is the year the Quakers come out on top.  Based on the last two years and some of the scores so far this season, I'm expecting an over and under around 90!  lol  I'm going to call it GC 48, HSC 45.  Man, I hope I'm right!  lol  Peace and see you at the game.

Good luck to W&L, BC and E&H.  RMC at CUA is a conference game ... hmmm, as a native Virginian, my heart is with the Jackets, but I think the home field advantage will favor the Cardinals ... maybe 24-21?  Anyway, it's good to get the ODAC games rolling!

Good luck, Hasa!!  I'm in need of a limerick,  It's been too long.  I can't go to Lagrange because it's too far and I have tracheo-bronchitis.  So I'm having a pity party for me!!  If Vogelback throws too many tDs tomorrow he might sprain a muscle.  Tell him to beat'em, and go for the record :) :) :)  Everytime I think about him, I get the heebee geebees.  You and Trenches have to come up and calm my nerves on that day.  Not that I think that will help!  Have a great day tomorrow!!

There once was a team with a Llama
A Snake and a great Olinemama
Out west, Mom's a chilling
Down south, Bo's a grilling
Stone Station's a zoo with some drama!

How's that?  lol  Good luck to the Eagles in LaGrange!

I love it and added it to my collection!!  I just wish I had them all, but I've got a bunch!  This weekend has been less than wonderful and tomorrow I have 4 classes.  Should be wonderful.  NOT!!!  But I was happy to hear that BC did well down south.  I am very very worried about this coming Saturday.  No funny jokes, Allsky7.  But I sure am looking forward to seeing everybody.  Who does Guilford play this coming weekend.  Sorry that the Defense didn't do so well.   well, this girl who normally sings alto and is now barely speaking but croaking in a basso profundo voice needs to hit the hay!!

Olinemom - Thanks for the compliment.  Guilford plays intracity rival Greensboro at Grimsley HS's 10,000-seat Jamieson Stadium this Saturday night at 7 pm in the 11th annual "Souper" Bowl.  The series is all knotted at 5-5, so a lot of "pride" on the line.  For those who don't know, there is also a competition between the two schools to see which students/fans can donate the most nonperishable food items for local food banks.  You can pay an admission fee at the gate or you can be admitted by bringing enough food items and declaring which school gets the credit.  In that regard, it's definitely a "win/win" game.  Peace

R-M beats CUA in DC.  27-17.  The Jackets surged in the 2nd quarter scoring 24 points.

Hallelujah! ;D
Hey, Jacketlawyer.  Congratulations to the Jackets for a road win to start the ODAC season!  Looks like the sting is back!  :)

Thanks Hasa.  We have W&L this weekend. :P  Thus far this season, we're undefeated in road games with our single loss coming at home.

We will have our hands full with the Gennies.  Good luck to the Quakes against Greensboro.

You're welcome, jacketlawyer.  I've been tracking RMC's progress with great interest.  Thanks for your best wishes versus Greensboro.  The last two years versus the Pride have been wild affairs with Guilford winning both, 36-35 in 2005 and 36-30 in double OT last year.  I wish we weren't starting the ODAC season in a hole again, but c'est la vie!  I'm still looking for you in Greensboro on October 27th!

Josh Simpson has been named ODAC Offensive Player of the Week.  He racked up 293 total yards of offense and set 3 ODAC records on Saturday: 7 touchdowns, 6 rushing touchdowns, and 42 points scored in a single game .....  http://www2.hsc.edu/athletics/football/

Josh Vogelbach completed 46 passes for 592 yards and six touchdowns.  His 592 passing yards rank sixth in NCAA Division III history.  He broke J.D. Ricca's ODAC career records for passing yardage and touchdowns.

No surprise that the ODAC Defensive Player of the Week was neither from HSC or Guilford ....   :D

Congratulations to Josh Simpson and Josh Vogelbach.  I'm sincerely not trying to lessen either's accomplishments (because both had great outings!), but the "Defenses" in this game were about as effective as water stored in an onion bag.    :)

Ha, that was good!

It's amazing to me that H-SC and Guilford can have good coaches who have all these athletes on offense, and be able to "put it all together" and score so many points, but they seemingly can't do the same on defense.

Since 2005, the Quakers have given up 30-plus points to 13 opponents. The Tigers have had nine opponents score 30-plus. Then you have Randolph-Macon, who has only seven wins in their last 24 games (and only one conference victory), has given up 30-plus in only seven games since 2005.

Oh Pat, thanks for the cool pictures of the R-M/CUA game posted on the d3football web site.  Enjoyed lookin' at 'em, and I hope plenty of other R-M fans will have look as well.

Again, thanks a lot! :)

Not a problem.

Fans of pass defense and runbacks should especially enjoy.

If you score 49, you ought to win!

I honestly hoped this would be the year we broke the hex, but it wasn't.

My thoughts exactly.  I was sure the Quakes would get it done this year.  I did a double-take when I saw the score.  Thought for sure it was a typo.

Sounds as if it was a heck of a game to watch. :o

It was a heck of a game to watch, but think about this:  Guilford has scored 137 points versus Hampden-Sydney the last three seasons and lost all three games!  Sadly, the Quakers have surrendered 149!  Maybe next year ... :)

It was exciting to watch!  The Quakers have a heck of a passing game, and its not just the quarterback:  I thought the receivers were hot, making great plays for the ball.  Protection was also good.

Looked for you at halftime, hasanova, but I didn't find ya.  Maybe at some other game; I was hanging with my crew.

Hey, sludge.  I agree, Vogelabach is a good passer because he has a great line and great receivers.  I'm sorry I missed you a the half.  Jan and I stepped over to the Quaker Club tent and got in a conversation with Mike Poston.  We'll be back!
