OK...

Congrats to HSC and RMC...and I am not going to hold against  you the fact that my pick'ems are now completely fubar'd for the year.

For those who hold out hope until the last ditch (I mean, was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?), what are the ODAC tiebreak rules again?  Head to head, and then is it something like the team that has been out of the NCAA playoffs for the longest time?

Leave Bwana alone, he's on a roll.   ;D

Wormer...Dead!
Dorfman...Dead!
Niedermeyer......

come on, don't leave me hanging...
Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these ba$#*ds. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

I feel your pain Bwana- I got RMC right (what water are they mixing with the Kool-Aid at the YJC tent Jacketlawyer?), but I went down in flames on the other picks....

...The simple fact is, Bwana, you feel responsible for Goose and you have a confidence problem with your picks. Now I'm not gonna sit here and blow sunshine up your butt, Lieutenant. A good pilot is compelled to evaluate what's happened, so he can apply what he's learned. Up there, we gotta push it. That's our job. It's your option Lieutenant. All yours.  ;)

Obviously, I F***ed up...I trusted myself...

Now, on the advice of fmfdoc, I am going to off and drink heavily.  I trust his advice, as he is obviously pre-med
NO, Tusky, You cannot MOON Dr. Geisert!

...pre-med, pre law..... what's the difference?

JacketLawyer,

Were you at the game on Saturday.  I'm still trying to figure out why #15 got kicked out (and I even talked to him last night...).

No, I wasn't able to make it, man.  Family stuff to do.  But I'll be at the Homecoming game this weekend against Carnegie-Mellon. 8)

I don't get to as many games now as I used to when I lived in Richmond.

Sorry you missed it.  The 1st half wa a great game, but the 2nd half (IMO) was a whooping.  Can't wait to see the Carnegie Mellon game.  That should show us if R-MC is the true real deal.

I want to congratulate the Tigers on their 38-31 win. Bridgewater had our share of close wins in this series and Favret and company got a big win yesterday.
The theme for Bridgewater is to win five in a row or we don't go (to the playoffs.)

Good morning, everyone.  Sorry I couldn't chime in until now, but here goes:

1.  Congratulations to the Quakers for their 3rd straight "Souper" Bowl win over Greensboro,  Guilford now leads the series 6-5.  :)
2.  Thanks to the record (for GCP) 4462 fans who contributed about 8000 cans of food to local charities.  They are the real winners.  After 11 years, I think the total is over 30,000 cans.
3.  Torrey Lowe (#1 for GCP) is one fine player (66 yards rushing and a TD, 75 yards receiving and 2 TD's plus a 79 yard kickoff return for a TD).  Wow!
4.  Josh Vogelbach was 48 of 79 with one Interception for 422 yards and 5 TD's.  Ho-hum.  lol   His completions and attempts set new school records and, according to the local paper, tie him for 4th and move him to 3rd, respectively, in NCAA DIII.  He now has 30 TD's passing and 2 rushing in five games this year and 99 passing and 7 rushing for his 25-game Guilford career.
5.  The Quakers had a 41-16 lead late in the 3rd quarter, but Greensboro rallied with 3 straight scores to make it a game.  In this rivalry (and it truly is), no one can seem to put a game away.  Guilford was able to get several first downs on their final drive and forced Greensboro to use their timeouts.  Guilford then took a knee a couple of times to end the game.
6.  Greensboro got a rare 2-point score on a blocked PAT run the distance.  Instead of being up 14-7 in the first, the Quakers only enjoyed a 13-9 edge.
7.  Despite Vogelbach's 422 yards on 79 attempts, the Quakers actually had 164 yards rushing.  Cooper and Bobak were key.  Bobak ripped a long run in the 2nd quarter, but got tripped up at the one.  I was glad to see he got the next handoff for the score.
8.  The Quakers scored 41, but I thought they looked a bit flat at times.  In my opinion, poor clock management cost them a TD as time ran out in the first half.  I think it should have been 34-16 instead of 27-16.  In games such as these, a missed score or blocked PAT can come back to haunt you.
9. Vogelbach's Interception also cost another score.  It was picked off in the endzone on a drive the Quakers looked destined to get six.  I think that gives him 5 for the year, which is a heck of a lot better than last season's 26!
10.  Kastor (14-133), Miller (14-124-2 TD's), Joyner (11-86-3 TD's), Vaughn (4-35), Bobak (3-13) and his brother, Bobak (2-31) ... what a group of receivers!

Congratulations also to HSC, RMC, CUA and E&H!  The ODAC is shaping up to be very interesting.  I can't promise yet, but I'll do my best to be at BC in two weeks.  Jacketlawyer and friends, you fellows must be on Cloud 9!  Super!  Looks like E&H and Guilford kept the ODAC's fine nonconference record (21-3) intact!  Wish I could have also been at HSC yesterday - must have been a charged atmosphere!

Quakers and Eagles are both 4-1, 0-1 ... and both will be up for their game!  Peace

Yeah, I went to the R-M web site and checked out the stats.  Looking forward to the C-M game as well.  Don't know how C-M is doing this year, but I'll do my homework this week.

October looks as if it'll be a great month for many reasons!  Oh and congrats to the Quakes, Hasa!!  I may be joining you on the 27th after all!

Thanks, Jacketlawyer.  I'm looking for you in Greensboro on the 27th regardless of the records, but it's shaping up to be a game with some real meaning!  PS It's GC's homecoming, so there ought to be a really good crowd!

Another interesting week of ODAC results. It was only a matter of time before HSC beat BC. Congrats to the Tigers, and now you all will have the full attention of the rest of the conference.
And WOW...I think I need to give Pedro some credit after he opens up 2-0 in the ODAC. I didn't see that happening, especially not by that margin over W&L. That win opens up my eyes and shows me the Jackets are contenders. It also makes me reconsider how Catholic might fare with their ODAC schedule, considering they outplayed the Wasps and gave the game away on turnovers last week.

Congrats to GC, EHC, and CUA for keeping the ODAC's non conference record looking good. GC still didn't show they had a defense looking at the results, and EHC has me a little more puzzled than I thought they would.

Catholic's win over F&M was impressive in terms of the comeback. Keith Ricca redeemed himself after last week's 5 interception game with a 3 TD 0 INT performance. I don't know why Catholic is still rotating John Jacobs (1-9, 3 yds) into its games. Nick Olivero returned his 2nd punt of the year for a touchdown, and had an interception as well. He is undoubtedly one of the best players in the ODAC.
Catholic went 4-0 in OOC play this year, but its been the ODAC which has been their struggle lately. W&L looks beatable after their performance against RMC, and EHC doesn't appear to have made the jump I expected. However, the ODAC seems to have a lot of parity, and its going to be fun to see how this all works out.

Hasa... thanks for the breakdown... Unfortunately I was unable to attend due to a prior commitment, however, I was very pleased to see the final when I got in last night. Was just waiting for your breakdown before I commented any further.
Sounds like a typical Guilford game.. move the ball, spread it around a ton, a mistake here and there (what is up with the KO coverage????), and a defensive scare... But a W is a W and I will take it. Gonna be a crazy matchup in two weeks up in BC. Hoping to make the trip but can't say for certain yet.
  Congrats to the Quake.

Few side notes..
- funny to me that E&H hasn't played a conference game yet; But will open up with HSC next week... GO wasps  ;)
- Short ODAC schedule this week but two very important matchups...
    1) Current #1 (HSC) v #3 (E&H)... E&H opens conference play and HSC looks to continue it's reign atop the ODAC board.
    2) And 2 teams already with an ODAC loss look to keep their title hopes alive... Esp important to W&L who garnered 2 top votes in the preseason poll. Although the conference is as tight as possible, a loss for either would like cut all hopes of an ODAC title this year.
- Who would have predicted through 5 weeks...
       - Each ODAC team has 1 loss. No more. No less.
       - E&H leads the league with only 44 points let up (avg only 11 ppg let up).
       - With a steady balance of O and D Randy mac is 4-1.
       - HSC has let up 80 points in two conference games... and is 2-0!!

Hey Pakownr -
not D3 related...but I just saw that if (when) Favre throws the record TD pass, the Vikes will stop the game for a presentation and put a Marino video tribute message from MArino to Favre on the jumbotron.

I hate the Packers......but really like Favre....good luck...I hope he breaks the record....next week!

Come on fellow Alum....Darren Sharper - Int for TD!!
