ehcwasp00,

I really don't know what you mean by the definition of intensity.

Intensity is mental alertness, focus, drive, maintaining self-control, and most of all, composure in critical situations.

That is my definition - and I wasn't aware that a coach had to instill this into football players - I don't remember playing with anyone that needed a coach for this.  And as far as the coaches go, I just don't like the fact that as soon as we lose the fingers are pointed at them - maybe the players need to step up and make more plays.  Also, not turning the ball over 8 times may help, so Coach Montgomery shouldn't throw 5 picks next week.......

The No. 4 seed didn't seem likely but if they could get to No. 5 they might be in line for a decent first-round matchup.

I would think the regional rankings might look like this this week:

1. Washington and Jefferson
2. Mary Hardin-Baylor
3. Wesley
4. Muhlenberg
5. Salisbury
6. Trinity (Texas)
7. Waynesburg
8. Randolph-Macon
9. Ursinus
10. Hampden-Sydney

So it looks to me like these are the most likely first round opponents for the ODAC Champion:

#9 Washington & Jefferson College,  Washington, PA.  (369 miles from HSC)
#8 Wesley College, Dover, Delaware.   (270 miles from HSC)
#16 Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA.  (374 miles from HSC)
#11 Salisbury College, Salisbury, MD.  (291 miles from HSC)

Distances from Randolph-Macon to each of the above locations would be 30-90 miles fewer.

Algernon, I think you nailed the 4 most-likely hosts of the lone ODAC team.  W-Jeff will not play Waynesburg and Mary-Hardin Baylor is almost a sure thing to play Trinity (the annual Texas play-off game).

algernon

Maybe something like this?

#8 North Carolina Wesleyan (or Ferrum?) @ #1 Washington and Jefferson
#7 HSC / RMC @ #3 Wesley
#6 Trinity @ #2 Mary Hardin-Baylor
#5 Salisbury @ #4 Muhlenberg

While I'll agree that the players need to step up, I also think that part of the focus should be put on the coaching staff.  Having a winning program means putting your players in the best position to win.  Obviously players are solely to blame for the physical turnovers (i.e. fumbles), but the coaches have to be held partially accountable for the mental mistakes.  I imagine Coach Rhea there at Rural Retreat would agree- at least to an extent.

I could be wrong (I wasn't at the game) but from the play-by-play it looks like E&H gave up with a minute left and ran out the clock (3 straight runs to end the game). And I think they had 1 timeout left which they chose not to use. Teams have scored 10 points in the last minute before. What was that?

ehcwasp00

Well I don't know who you are, but you obviously were interested in who I am....anyways, I will find out what ole Coach Rhea thinks of the whole situation....I will let you know what he comes up with.

BTEXPRESS

It will be a very interesting game in Emory, Va. this Saturday. Will W & L come to play after making their entire season by beating Bridgewater last week for the first time in eight seasons? Has E & H packed it in after losing 3 straight? A lot of questions will be answered on both sides with the outcome of this game.

I lived in Ashland for over a year and have been there on dozens of other occasions but jacket, if you can spare that info to a Tiger fan, it would be much appreciated.  Preferably a little closer than the King's Dominion parking lot.  ;)

I remember! 8)  For Homecoming, I parked in a grove of trees on the right on College Avenue just after it crosses the tracks.  PM yellowjacket, though to be sure.  He's offering the latest info, and he's a recent graduate.

No, I can't make it Saturday.  My Dad's 80th birthday party starts at noon that day.  But I can Fed Ex my cheesehead to Llamaguy if you would like.  OR BETTER YET, Llama's son has a #49 Packer jersey with "TAYLOR" on the back.  Maybe Lil Llama would wear it for you in my absence.

Hope our Eagles provide you with a good game.  From what Coach Clark said in his blog, we may finally see the offense I expected to see all season.

Drive safely, I want you to be alive to see the Pack whoop your Viqueens again this year.

Hugs and kisses,
Pakownr97
