It was in a local paper in VA.

Well, I also checked the Buena Vista paper without any sign of it.

Until Southern Virginia's roster or Guilford's roster reflect these changes, or there's an online news source reports this, why should we believe you?

I think you've simply "suckered" Pat and me into inquiring about it.

Yeah, I'm OK, because I'm not buying it.  This, obviously, would be huge story if it's true, but, at least for today, "I'm from Missouri" ... so you'll have to show me.  :)

In Flander's Field
by John McCrae
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow,
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead.
Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved and now we lie,
In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw,
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us, who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow,
In Flanders Fields.

Field Turf is basically about the safest type of surface you can have for a field that I know of, obviously much safer than Astro Turf and even safer than grass.

skoal- sorry to hear about Pete Rose.  Sometimes kids just make bad decisions, heck I still make bad decisions.

Let's play the guessing game.  When and where will Mr. Rose play football again?

Headline December 2008: ROSE/MCCOY LEAD GENERALS TO NCAA D3 TITLE.

Peter Rose, Derek McCoy, and Scott Abell are together again at the top after Rose leads Washington & Lee University to the 2008 D3 crown. "If my home boy Rosey ain't playing Beamer Ball, I ain't either" McCoy was quoted as saying when asked why he chose to attend W&L. "What the H is a Hokie anyway?" Rose stated he came to W&L not only to join his former coach but has plans to attend W&L Law School :D

While not in the same category as Rose, McCoy has had some discipline issues recently as well. As a resident of Amherst County and a Lancer fan, I am sincerely disappointed by all this. It was truly a thrill to watch them not just win, but dominate on their way to back to back state championships the last few years. For Peter Rose, this is not about football any more. It is a crossroads as to what path he will take for the rest of his life. My understanding is he comes from a good family. I hope they will support him in making good choices in becoming a productive citizen.

After years of never knowing anyone new for Quaker football before the first game, Guilford's now started to release the names of incoming freshmen.  With the 12 posted today (see news release on d3football's front page), I count 23 so far.   There may be others, but those I know about.  Welcome aboard, gentlemen, let's earn Guilford an ODAC title and the first NCAA bid!  Go Quakers!

Sadly, Peter Rose made an internet list of "athletes in trouble" in the last few days.  His photo and story were immediately after the Akron basketball player who's accused of shooting at cops during a traffic stop.  Rose's case reminds me of former Eastern Alamance (NC) HS star JameSon Curry who was headed to UNC-CH on a basketball scholarship until he got caught in an undercover drug sting within the HS.  He eventually ended up at Oklahoma State after UNC took the scholarship offer off the table.  For Curry, I guess 65 points in a HS game wasn't enough.  Hopefully, Rose can get back on track as well.

I never saw a story about Guilford players transferring to SVU, but I do have this story about two of the Quakers you cite being named 2008 GC team captains:
