I was scanning the other regional boards last night and saw on one that they were asking for posters to come up with an All Star Team from the posters favorite school. (i.e. Jacketlawyer would come up with his verison of the all time best players at each position at his favorite school and so on).

The region I saw this on had some interesting discussing about the picks of everyone especially those picking the best from the same school. Just something to talk about till camp opens next month. Come on give it a shot.

Interesting! I may give this a shot for BC.

Andrew (from SIOnCampus.com) posted about his Stagg Bowl experience on his blog;

It's a good read, with a shout out to Stone Station.

Phew ... less than a month before the players report to camp!

How is the E&H stadium renovation coming?

BTEXPRESS

Not sure how E & H's stadium is coming along, but W & L's new stadium looks fantastic, new grandstands, new lights and new Field Turf. Very Impressive. It is a great time to be a Division III athlete as schools continue to upgrade their facilities.

I bought my Guilford season tickets today ... 46 days until September 6th!  The only bad thing about a 7 pm start on opening day is I have to wait six more hours!  lol  As if the first game wouldn't be excitement enough, the Quakers have the Greensboro College Pride coming across town for the 12th annual Souper Bowl.  It's 6-5 Quakers, so it should be a good one ... the last three have been, well, super!  If any of you are in town or simply want to see a good rivalry game, donate some non-perishable food items and come on over.

Bridgewater is getting a new track surface around the football field -- does that count as an upgrade? :)

Oh yeah, and our athletic building -- Nininger Hall -- is getting a new roof.

Ahhh, the smell of tar.

     Super or souper?  :D

Feels a little odd with the Tigers having a bullseye (sorta) on their back. Course, even if they are picked to win the conference, it certainly won't be a unanimous pick like it has been in recent years with the Eagles. Speaking of.... saw two bald eagles while yaking on the James River Saturday. An omen maybe.......NOT!!  ;D
Amazing, here we are on the verge of getting ready to rock n roll again. I'm certainly excited but how can a year go by so fast?  :o

Matt, there was an article in yesterday's Philadelphia Inquirer or phlly.com, which addressed all the athletic facility upgrades to the schools in the Centennial Conference over the past few years. They called it an ARMS RACE  with these schools to attract not only athletes, but students in general with new stadiums, turf fields, new basketball Gyms, fitness centers etc. I guess the schools are in such competiton to attract new students to justify their ever increasing tutions. What jumped out at me in the article was that out of last 50 new athletic buildings built in the last five years, 14 were for Division III schools. Millions of dollars are being donated and spent for falicity upgrades. Again, it is a great time to being a Division III athlete.

Kickoff is not far off (thank God). Lets get some chatter going regarding preseason picks. I'll go first and take your shots as the come:

1) HSC
2) Bridgewater
3) W&L
4) RMC
5) Guilford
6) CU
7) E&H

I know most RMC & E&H fans are going to disagree but that is why we play the games. HSC won last year but loss their only conference game to E&H. I think that addresses the balance of the league and indicates anything can happen on any given Saturday. HSC challenges are many but the fact they travel to both Bridgewater & W&L is going to make their title defense that much more challenging but with a more experienced QB and one year under their belts with their new defense, I think the Tigers will be better in 08. I think Bridgewater is going to be much better than advertised given the amount of players not returning (35 I think) but we al know they have athletes and will compete for the title;W&L is going to be very good on both sides of the ball again and difficult to beat; RMC is going to be good but they will not surprise anyone this year. Their running game is going to great again but I see their offense being too predictable and easier to defense than most other offenses in the conference; their defense will be solid once again. Guilford will score for sure and IF they can create an defense they will be very difficult to beat; CU and E&H will be solid but a step below. I see every team in the league minus CU & E&H having an opportunity to win the title. CU or E&H could pull the upset that  determines the winner.

Can't wait to get started and Good Luck to all. Lets hope all teams play injury free (at least serious injury free) and the ODAC Champion represents the conference well in post season play (pray the winner does not go to Wesley for the first round game).
