Matt off to the cheese and wine pre game.  :) Good for you and have a good time

I do not have a lot of time so give me the reasons why GC-Q is 4th in the conference prediction. And of course the blasphemy of a BC as a run of the mill. I can hear the Jack Daniels bottle being dropped from Skoals dead hand

Well, I'm no expert on all the teams, but we lost to BC, W&L, HSC and RMC last year and a lot of folks think they're stronger this year.  GC still has Vogelbach, of course, but lost a great receiver, Joe Joyner, to graduation.  When you factor in only two of six ODAC games at home and a history of porous defense, I guess it spells 5th place.  Personally, I think  the Quakers may do better than that, but I certainly understand the preseason ranking.

Take care my friend.  I hope we made a good MRAP with your name on it!

does anybody know if the odac football media day on 08/08 will be viewable online like it was last year?

Actually, I'd be interested to know about this as well. ???

Enjoyed having online access to the media guide last year. ;D

Kinda of a flash back seeing HSC & RMC picked preseason one & two respectfully. It has been a long, long time since that has happened. I still think one of four teams have a shot at winning the ODAC; HSC, Bridgewater, RMC and W&L and as I said earlier, the other three teams have the ability to pull an upset that may very well determine the  winner.  Schedules could determine the winner and HSC has a very difficult one having to travel to both W&L and Bridgewater.

Good luck to all. Enjoy the remainder of the Summer but most importantly; enjoy the season. It should be a really good one !!!!

A lot of activity here. Hope I can keep up.
At any rate, how have the turnouts been for the ODAC been numbers wise. Anyone have any ifo on  how may players each school is starting the year with?

willierobin

I heard Catholic has it's largest roster in years  - 110 players (over 50 freshmen).

I'm making an "educated" guess that Guilford has 80+ in preseason workouts.  I was expecting 57 returning lettermen and I saw press releases for 24 freshmen, but I could have missed some.

These coaching additions and assignment changes at Guilford were published in yesterday's Greensboro News & Record and are now posted on the college website:

My special best wishes to former OL Brad Davis '08 ... I really enjoyed watching you play and talking with your Dad at games the last four seasons.  Good luck with your first coaching duties!

Two devastating losses for BC in 2008. I think W&L is now clearly #3 in the ODAC.

Yes, they'll be missed.  I hope they'll raise their academic standing this semester and rejoin the Eagles second semester.  Especially in DIII, I think, you have to keep up your studies and I respect Coach Clark for putting that first.

Tough losses for BC. They were going to have a hard enough time replacing all the talent they lost last season, and this certainly won't help. BC is looking as vulnerable as they have this decade.

WillieRobin...where did you hear about the 110 in camp for Catholic? Catholic usually doesn't post their roster until the week before Game 1, so I assume you've got the inside info. I'd appreciate it if you had any information on any scrimmages coming up as well.

Llamaguy

Looks like it will be an interesting year in the ODAC. BC is young but talented. All will depend on how the O-line & D-line come together this season. No predictions as to record but they should be fun to watch as they mature!

Kudos to "The Kid"! I will be in attendance to see the "Men of Troy" and even better, the "Women of Troy" aka white sweaters with USC in 3-D on their chest's as they invade C'ville next Saturday.  ;D

I missed everyone at the Pigskin Preview today but will be off work and back for the scrimmage next week in full force.

Go BC!

Muchacho - Catholic scrimmages at Johns Hopkins next Wednesday night (7 pm?). The word is that about 110 came out but 4 or 5 freshmen have quit. Still a big number for CUA.

I didn't double-check the count, so forgive me if the numbers are off ... looks as though Guilford has posted a preseason roster with 61 upperclassmen and 48 freshmen for a 109 total.  This is a long way from the much lower numbers just four or five years ago:

Hope to see some of you at games this fall!
