Casper,

I haven't talked to Daniel, so I don't know what his state of mind was going into the season or what it has been the past few weeks; neither do I know the reason he quit.  And without any specificity for why he left the team (if that is indeed the case b/c I haven't heard anything), I don't think it is fair to characterize somebody's leaving the team as a 'good riddance.'  Until you or somebody else comes forward with reasons for why Booher left the team (again, if he did in fact do so), you sound like an immature idiot for criticizing the guy's actions.  Basically, why don't you give us some concrete evidence before you start making blanket assertions about somebody being selfish or not acting in the best interests of the team.

casper

Saying good riddance is perfectly logical.

I see nothing wrong with being glad that one of the team's problems is now gone.  Nothing wrong
whatsoever.

We can now move on and try to get better.  That simple.  Try and look at it objectively
instead of feeling hurt.

I qualified my statement with "Unless there is some medical, family or academic reason - quitting during the season is pretty damn selfish if you ask me....don't care how much of a "good guy" you are."

Sounds like you missed that.  Also, he quit Monday - hate to break it to you.

BTEXPRESS

Casper, Here is a question for you. Is the E & H & W & L situations the same thing in your mind??? or does one quitting for different reasons ( playing time) justify it for you?

casper

Is that what SCguy is referring to?  When did that qb quit timing wise?

If he quit before first game, I'd say that's reasonable.  Our schools cost a ton
of money to attend....may want to get the most bang for his or his parents' buck.

BTEXPRESS

Not really sure, but I think he might have quit after the first game. Maybe SC can let us know.

casper

I really enjoyed watching him play last year.  He looked like
he had a good work ethic and I expected big things from him this
year.  Maybe something changed after the year got started....who knows.

SCguy

I was refering to the W&L QB. He decided to quit after the Sewanee game apparently.

We are fans. We can speculate.
They are kids, non scholarship (athletically anyways). They get no remuneration for playing football.
I think the QB at E&H was premature in leaving the program. I think he let the team down. I think he set a bad example.
Doesn't matter what I thnk.
I don't know why he quit. He many have had any of the various good reasons stated by other people. I do know it is none of my business. It is between him, the school and his family. I do feel bad for everyone involved because at one point this kid must have really loved the game. That's a lot of football to walk away from, that's his decision.
It had to be a hard decision, God bless him.

Bwana

Just noticed something for the odd coincidence file...

Did not realize that Michael Clark is the coach for both BC and for Lycoming.

Who knew?

Anyone going up for the game?  Anyone who has seen BC this year-how do you rate their chances against Lycoming?
NO, Tusky, You cannot MOON Dr. Geisert!

The Chemist

I saw the second half last week after listening to the first on the radio. BC is YOUNG! and still needs to gain experience. They have talent and Mike Clark. If they continue to improve as they were showing last week against Ferrum (defense and offense) they will win some games. First we have to stop the mistakes and play a whole game.

Hasa...Sorry you can't make it to H-S today. I am most likely headed that way. Not sure if you will have access to the game online or not but  I'd be happy to text you with updates.
Is the Tiger D for real? Sure would warm this "old school" heart to see some D from the home team. GO TIGERS!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that the Hampden-Sydney/Guilford football game will be webcast via LIVE VIDEO STREAM. All H-SC home football and basketball games will be available in live video and play-by-play audio through Penn Atlantic FOR FREE!

Just follow this link (http://hams-av.hsc.edu/football/) and enjoy...it really is free for all, but you have to register with PA first...enjoy the game all! It should be another high-scoring affair!!!

Let's just hope for the Tigers' sake that Josh Vogelbach doesn't put up 592 and 6 again!
