Howdy RMC fans! For any of you making the trip to A-town you have a few choices of where to stay...Holiday Express and a Comfort Inn plus a few less expensive places. Sorry, but there are no hotels/motels close to the college. And please note...it's November in Ohio and you'll be sitting in open stands facing west so ya better bring some warm clothes.

Have a safe trip!

He speaks the truth! I vividly remember tailgating prior to the 2003 National semifinal. It was 7am, about 20 degrees with 20 mph winds. It wasn't any warmer around 11am when a group of about 40 recruits for MUC walked by our tailgate. Believe me it got nothing but colder after the 1st quarter.  :o  Just another example of how humbling "The Machine" can make you!

Good luck to RMC. I have tailgated at the Stagg with a member of the last team to taste a playoff win at MUC. That linebacker for UMHB is an example of why they play the game. Enjoy the opportunity but don't get too discouraged by the result! ;)

Stone Station will be waiting for the purple people to invade Salem in December. Always ready with open arms! Someone needs to get the game moved back from 11am Dec. 20th though. >:( We need time to properly prepare as fans for the game.

That's for sure.  An 11 a.m. kickoff sucks.

To all the Stone Station guys, we expect to see you in a few weeks.

I'm a Centre grad, but have a connection to R-MC, and know some people there well.

First, I promise 3 weeks ago playoffs seemed well out of reach for the Jackets, so finishing the season strong, with a big win over HSC, and extending the season for the first time since 84 is a huge step for this program.

Second, like Keith McMillan said this is an opportunity for R-MC to measure itself against the best, and I promise Coach Arruza relishes the opportunity, as will his team.

Certainly, they'll be in the fight of their lives, but there's something to be said for being able to tell your team they have nothing to lose, everything to gain, and just go out there and turn it loose for 4 quarters.

If Mt. Union's crowning were predetermined then we wouldn't have a tournament.  Congratulations to the Jackets on an outstanding year.  BEAT MOUNT UNION!

Congrats to Randolph Macon from the Raider faithful...A bit of information..If you want lodging in Alliance, I see it has been listed for you...The North Canton area has lodging, good food, and much social night life (25 minutes, give or take, from Mount Union) if you wish and/or have the time
Mount Union College's food service does host a pre game brunch for any fans interested..it is an excellent spread, with a great many friendly fans in attendance and the price is right.  It is in the Campus center just a few paces north of  the football stadium...bookstore is in the same building for those that want that kind of stuff.
most tailgating happens in the parking lot west of the stadium adjacent to the Gulling Center, you must arrive early and police will patrol during activities.  I have been told that  all tailgating stops when the game starts, police will monitor that too...
I have seen some light tailgating in the east lot beside the stadium, however this is usually reserved parking. A couple auxiliary parking lots have been lost to construction, but parking is not too hard to find... you may have to walk a few blocks.
all seating is reserved, the covered stands and middle sections of the open stands are home season ticket holders... the visitors normally sit in the east (open) stands outside the 35 yard lines....
There is usually NCAA playoff apparel for sale in the stadium during the game...
have a safe trip...congrats again and good luck

A north vs. south region matchup in the Eastern region! What a season!

Yeah, so?  So do 99% of the teams in D3 when they play MUC.  Still, it's an accomplishment to go out there and play in the playoffs.

Making the playoffs is quite an accomplishment and should never be minimized. As a Raider fan, I want to extend my congratulations to RMC. Nice to have a playoff system!

Llamaguy ,

You'll need a good recipe for Bloody Mary's to get the morning started !!!Then a nice brunch !!

skunks_sidekick

Come ON RMC!  We need some good ole "we are peaking at just the right time"......"they haven't seen the offense/defense/special teams/intensity/trickery/coaching/fan fervor/etc/etc like we have"...... ;)

The good news is that it's supposed to "warm up" by Saturday into the 40's/50's range.   ;D  We Mount fans welcome a new, never seen before team to Alliance.

Safe journeys!

Congrats to all the R-MC fans here on the boards, and to the players and coaches. Just shows you have to make every play count in the rivalry games. Best of luck in the playoffs.

And that game was all about making every play count.  More so than I've seen over the past few years.  Looks to me as if the Rivalry is officially back.  That defensive touchdown scored by Macon deep in the 4th was the kind of things that goes down in the lore. :o

I appreciate the graciousness expressed by the HS faithful on the board.

But now we get to play MUC. :P  Wheeewwwww.  Good to see two good ole Methodist schools going at it!  GO JACKETS!

As much as it hurts to say, congratulations to RMC on the big win. RMC deserved the victory as they controlled the line of scrimmage the entire game.

Good luck in Ohio. What a great opportunity to play against the best DIII
program in the country on their home field. The entire experience will be exciting. I've always wanted to see a game at MU, if things work out this week I'm going to try to make the trip.

Good luck and safe travels !!!!!

We want Stone Station at the game in Alliance. Come on guys, your ODAC and after the last bunch of Staggs, your a little bit "Mount".

I can't speak for the Stone Station crew but I'd be willing to bet they can be bought for a price!! Even to help out the Jackets.   :D
Come on Purple Raiders...the least you can do is give your guest the good side of the field before you pulverize them!!  :D :D

I can't make the trip due to work obligations, but what I meant to say in an earlier post (but didn't) is that I hope we have a decent showing at this game.

Congratulations to Pedro and his players, especially the seniors.  The Game strak is snapped, and you get to play one of the best teams in the country.  What a way to end the regular season! 8)

Just stopping by to wish RMC fans a safe trip to Alliance.  Hopefully we'll see some of you stopping by on the OAC board to mix things up a bit.  As far as hoping to have a "decent" showing at this game, what would make it decent?  Just wondering.  I really don't know anything about RMC at this point, other than the fact that they're 6-4 and needed a win last week to secure a playoff bid.  I'm sure I'll be back in here later in the week after I take a look at what RMC has done this season.
They should have practiced harder.

raiderfan1983

Came back a little sooner than I thought I would.  I know that stats are just stats and "that's why they play the games on Saturdays," but just glancing through who RMC has played this year and looking at what they've done, I have a hard time seeing this one stay close.  Just a few stats to throw out there on which I base my argument.

Points Per Game
RMC- 27.9
MUC- 46.8
Points Allowed Per Game
RMC- 24
MUC- 6
Total Offense
RMC- 348 yards
MUC- 541 yards
Total Defense
RMC- 335.2 yards
MUC- 158 yards

By no means am I saying don't support your team and don't be proud of winning your conference and making the playoffs, I am merely giving my opinion of this week's upcoming game.
They should have practiced harder.
