I would just like to say that it seems that everyone is counting out RMC before they even get on the bus to Ohio.

I pose this question these two questions to all the readers of the board: last year (1) How many of you would have picked Appalachian State over top 5 Michigan in the Big House and (2) How many of you would have picked the Giants over the undefeated Pats in the Superbowl?  We play the game for a reason and I'm looking forward to the game tremendously.  All the guys playing (on both sides) are basically between 18-22 and they both put their pants on one leg at a time.

What everyone hasn't talked about is the amount of pressure that is on Mount Union.  They have all the pressure on them because they are the DIII powerhouse who has won 10 national championships.  They are the ones who have everything to lose in this game.
Jackets, just go out there, play your game and have fun.  This is a great opportunity to you and you should enjoy every last minute of it.  (Even practice this week)

As crazy as it sounds (sarcasm implied) I doubt MUC feels much pressure until Stagg Bowl time in most seasons. The fact is there are about 5 teams in my mind that have a legit shot to win enough playoff games back to back in a season to win the Nat'l Championship. Can another team beat MUC, yes; however, it would take a lot of help from MUC itself to lose this one. I don't see them losing to anyone below the top five teams in the country.

You will have a better understanding of what MUC represents once you see them in person. They are flat good and deep! Other teams in the playoffs can lose a key player and they are done, MUC has them 2-3 deep. There is a reason a kid comes to MUC, plays 9-10 JV games a year for a couple of years then splashes onto the Nat'l scene. Yes they recruit great players who play immediately but what I think makes them great is keeping kids on their JV team who would start most anywhere else. Also being able to practice for 20 weeks a year certainly doesn't hurt any college football team. Fact is there will be very little pressure for MUC to perform as long as they are at home. They have simply practiced, played, and studied too much football there to get to worried about RMC. That being said I'm sure you won't see a single "player" overlook RMC, they are just too football smart for that.  ;)

When you go to Alliance to play Mount they don't allow you to reenter the stadium during the game unless you purchase a new ticket. Also they sit there Alumni in the middle of the visitors seats. Be prepared its very cold. Good luck RMC and congratulations

There are sections designated as visitors, but Saturday they just start selling what seats are left. Isn't RMC selling seats? They S/B.

BTW Personally, I don't think Mount has so very much to lose. What they demonstrated this year is that they'll just reload and be back next year

Hope to see a good crowd from RMC.

all you Virginia faithful...listen to Llamaguy....he has as good a handle as anyone, not from Mount Union, about the  Raider program, its players, fans  and tradition...
he also sets up a whale of a tailgate and we were hoping he would head to Alliance...Hope to see him at the Stagg, again...

Look forward to going to the game.  Long trip, but worth it.

You do get spoiled going to as many playoff games as the BC fans did from 2000-2005. Like I heard Coach Clark say as he bought a D3 playoff hat at W&J in 2004: "You never know when you are going to get back here." It is much better going to see your team in the playoffs, regardless of outcome. As for us hardcore BC faithful, "The Stagg Bowl" keeps us in touch until BC's next visit to the "big dance". RMC earned it, so definitely enjoy it!

Yes, true...but this Tiger fan is still pulling for them. I haven't seen this years addition of the Purple Raiders but don't really need to. I have seen enough of them in the last few years to know what to expect. The MUC teams are on a different level than any team I have ever seen in person from the ODAC. Can the Purple Raiders be beaten? Yes, of course, but it will not be this Saturday in Alliance, OH. If / when they do lose, rest assured it will likely be in December. GO JACKETS!!
Looking forward to December 20th. With the 11:00AM start time, looks like a couple cups of java, a few bloody mary's, a little Stone Station, and it will be time to rock and roll. Llama, skoal, et al....since I don't have to worry about any one elses "feelings" this year, there will be no "wussing" out on account of the weather.  :D Are ya'll going to do the Friday evening Corned Beef & Co. deal or will the early Saturday start put a damper on those festivities?

I'll be honest, I'm counting RMC out.  Not out of any disrespect to your team or program, but rather in awe of what LK has managed to build at Mount.  I know that "on any given day, any team can win."  After following Mount football for a long time, it seems that those days are few and far between.  RMC fans should be excited.  If you can't get excited about trying to knock off the top program in the nation in the playoffs, then there's no reason to be a fan.  Forgive me if I'm a little confident (cocky?), but you'll understand my confidence when you see this team in action.
Last thing, I appreciate the vote of confidence in this year's squad, but Mount has only 9 national titles, not ten. ;)
They should have practiced harder.

Current weather and the forcast look like you'll be seeing some level of snow on Saturday

Raiderfan, I think you guys have every right to be cocky. As the old saying goes: "it ain't bragging if you can back it up", and MUC has certainly proved that they can do that. Still, I have to pull for Macon as the lone ODAC representative.

Stay tuned and we will keep you posted. If the BSC (1-AA) championship game pitts JMU vs App. St I will be wanting to go somewhere to catch the festivities Friday night. I saw round one in person earlier this year and wouldn't want to miss round 2.  ;)

I would encourage each and every RMC fan to attend the playoff game.  After following HSC to Wesley last year, even though the outcome was not what we were hoping for, the experience was well worth the time and effort.  As some other people have said " there are over 200 teams who would trade places with you".

RMC earned the trip so go enjoy it.  I am pulling for RMC to repesent the ODAC well.  GO JACKETS!

Llamaguy and the rest of the Stone Station gang,

Keep me in on the loop.  My son and I have bought our tickets and will be in Salem mid afternoon on Friday!  By the way,  my wife and I had chicken last night that had been marinated Stone Station style!!  ;)  It was almost as good as yours!!  :D  Looking forward to the game and have my fingers crossed that I can root for that other team in purple from Belton, TX!!!
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!
