joe b  wanted that pitcher out of the game....pure and simple.....he got it......basic joe brown move......and it did have a huge impact on the game.....momentum is everything

Hey everybody.  Great idea.  GET OVER IT!.     This quickly went from a semi interesting discussion of game rules to Cortland Hate and sniping about how hard a kid from BPort really throws.  Move along.

Pudge,

Couldnt agree more....lets focus on the big SUNYAC weekend ahead.

By the way, what is a crafty righty? Crafty righties are a dime a dozen and usually wind up being cut

Basically kind of a tag for a right hander that doesn't throw very hard but can mix speeds, locations and keep hitters off balance with more breaking and slower stuff. I'd liken the tag to a Jake Dennstedt though I'm not comparing him to Jordon in this discussion.

Greg Maddux?

Hot Rod Runnin

As soon as I posted I knew someone was going to fire back with Greg Maddux...

My point was just that because of the natural movement a left-hander can get away with throwing the ball slower than a right-hander. Case in point, that is why hard throwing left handers and left handers in general are so highly coveted.  The term crafty right hander is some what of a oxymoron.

Plattsburgh got embarrassed by Castleton the other day by a score of 18-4.  Word is that they showed up and looked as though they had no desire to play.  That cannot be happening if a team like that wants to stay in the playoff hunt.  Forget being nationally ranked in previous weeks, they now have to prove that they are still a good team.  I still have faith in them, but they are the ones that are on the field and they control what happens this weekend.  They gave up too many runs against Clarkson, New Paltz, and Castleton, which may foreshadow run production this weekend for their opponents.  Early in the season the Cards were giving up a lot of runs, but they were getting the offensive support they needed to win games.  Plattsburgh has a lot of "crafty" righties that will have to step it up and get some outs this weekend.

Yea especially since they're playing Fredonia this weekend. Even thought Fredonia looked terrible this past weekend with cold bats and mediocre pitching, they are still the #1 hitting team batting average wise so it should be a decent matchup up in Plattsburgh this sunday. Perhaps Plattsburgh's a little tired and need to rejuvenate quickly to get their acts together.

Plattsburgh took the second game against Fredonia (6-5).  Plattsburgh scored 3 in the bottom of the 8th to take a 6-3 lead.  Fredonia made a big error that allowed the Cards to score those runs.  CF dropped routine fly ball and Plattsburgh worked off of that.  Fredonia didn't give up though.  They were able to score 2 runs before giving up an out in the top of the 9th.  Plattsburgh ended the game with a double play with runners on 1st and 3rd.  Very close game.
