Cortland's Simone singles with 2 outs and steals 2nd but next batter flys out to left to end the inning. Cortland 3 outs away from the win. Fortunately they bat last so if IWU manages to tie it up or take the lead, they will still have a chance.

IWU's 1st batter get a single to right. Next batter sacrifices him to 2nd. Next batter flys out to center and the runner moves over to 3rd. 2 down, no wild pitches please, just get the OUT.

No such luck as the IWU cleanup hitter doubles to left center and ties the game up at 10.

Coach Brown is going to the bullpen once again. Brendon Hourihan coming in to try and get the 3rd out.

Hourihan does his job as he stikes out the IWU batter. Cortland needs a big run here to end this game and prevent any more wear and tear on the pitching staff.

Cortland opens the bottom of the 9th and Zilnicki does his job and manages a walk to put the lead off runner on. Sacrifice must be coming up. Kaplan drops down the bunt in front of the plate and the catcher throws him out at 1st as Zilnicki moves to 2nd. 2 chance to get a run scoring base hit. C'mon Red Dragons.

And Shawn Bailey is the HERO as he doubles down the right field line to score Zilnicki. Red Dragons win, Red Dragons win, Red Dragons win. Final score 11-10.

Now Cortland has to play Linfield again. and the winner will play IWU for the title. Hopefully Linfield will score only 3 or 6 like they have in their past 2 games and not the 25 they scored on Saturday against the Red Dragons. Win or lose Cortland ends up no worse than 3rd place, which is a pretty good showing for the SUNYAC. Good job guys. Hope you can win 2 more games.

Kski

2 innings in the books and Cortland has a 1-0 lead.  Simone singled and was able to advance to third on a pick-off that went by the first baseman.  Khyle Dimino hits a chopper to SS that is bobbled a bit. The throw is not in time to first.  Simone scores, and the Red Dragons have the lead.  Dimino gets to third on a stolen base, and a sac bunt by Bailey.  Zilnicki stikes out to end the inning, leaving Dimino at third.

Truthfinder

Cortland, Oneonta and Brockport represented the SUNYAC very well in this tournament.

Kski

1 more for Cortland in the top of the third.  June singles and later scores on a triple by Gardner.

Linfield gets 1 in the top of the 4th to narrow it to 2-1 but Cortland just scored on a base hit by by Shawn Bailey who drove in Khyle Dimino who had singled and stole 2nd with 1 out. Bailey tried to go to second but is thrown out.

Consectutive hits by John Zilnicki and Adam Fredenburg puts runners on the corners and Matt June doubles to right center to score both runners to make it 5-1. Adam Dimino then singles to center to drive in June and make it 6-1. Linfield's Coach Brosius has seen enough and goes to his bullpen.

Anderson Gardner greets the new Linfield pitcher, Reese McCulley with a home run on a drive to right center to make it 8-1 Red Dragons. McCulley strikes out Steve Nickel to end the inning.

Kski

Gardner hits the ball over some fence they put up in the outfield... Cortland up 8-1 on that shot.

Cortland leading 11-6 as we head to the top of the 8th. 6 more outs and the Red Dragons get to play for all the marbles.

Travis Ratliff giving the Red Dragons some huge innings as he retires the side in the 8th after a walk to the leadoff batter.  Red Dragons looking for some insurance runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Here we go, to the top of the 9th as Cortland gets another run in the bottom of the 8th to stretch their lead to 12-6.

Linfield has the bases loaded with 1 out and Coach Brown has finally had to go to his bullpen. Redemption though for Ratliff who had to come out of the 1st game against Linfield after a callous broke open on the thumb of his pitching hand. His availability for this game was questionable but he gave them 8 and a third innings. Now Brendon Hourihan in the game to try and close it out but gives up a double to the 1st batter he faces and Linfield scores 2 runs to narrow the gap to 12-8 with men on 2nd and 3rd.
Hourihan retires the next batter on a grounder to 2nd with a run scoring to make it 12-9 and gets the final out on a grounder to 1b. Red Dragons advance to the Championship game against IWU. Go Cortland.
