The denizens of E8Nation elected me.

Bob Maxwell

Chairman,

The benedict Arnold thing is very good...  I've been gone a few days so this is a little bit late...  I don't think that even you are a Cortland hater.  Just a fan for a rival team... that doesn't like to see them be successful.  You still have to respect what they've done.

I can't do it, but you can... if you want to lable yourself a Cortland hater that is Ok with me.

LOL

Scuba,

I believe Bostonian supported what I said about the pitching possibly being suspect when he reported that Bowdoin lost 3 of their top pitchers... so they don't have experience.  I don't konw... just going on what Bostonian said.

Also, your right Montclair did beat up on Brockport pitching in that one game... but they had 18 singles with only 3 extra base hits.  Giving up 6 home runs tells me the pitching was completely overmatched.  Brockport has solid pitching with experience... and Montclair is a good team that hit some of the boys on this particular day.  It happens... but 6 homers is anohter thing.

They shut out Alvernia on one hit... that doesn't mean they will win the national title?  NO, its one game in a season of over 40 of them...

No one is asking for anything both ways.... I am a Brockport fan... that doesn't mean that if I question something that I am blind to what happens with the Eagles.  In fact, I brought up how often times lop-sided scores happen and showed an example of such where Brockport lost to Montclair, who lost to Alvernia who lost to Brockport... all by scores of more the 10 runs.

Next game is vs Marietta on Saturday if it doesn't rain...
;D

yeah you are probably right.  It is much harder to get fired up about Cortland baseball than it is about football.  I'll respect what they have done when Coach Brown finally does what his Mentor has done...win the big one.

scuba16

bob,
just making the point that sometimes 1 game isn't an indication of how good/bad a team was! bowdoin was up 4-0 in that game before cortland exploded, so that tells me that they can play a bit! bostonian could be wrong cause i hear that bowdoin was rolling guys out that could throw it and cortland just kept hitting it! sun shines every once in a while!

jdex-your a great poster very detailed in basketball and baseball.....any reason we dont see you on the football boards?

Bob Maxwell

Scuba,

Thanks for the laugh out loud with the comment about the sun shining once in a while!  It is even out here today...  ;D

We've both said it... sometimes things just happen.  I didn't see the box score and was commenting on the 6 dingers in one game.  Maybe that is what happened in this case.  Even if Bostonian is right, there could be new guys who can play.

It will be an interesting season... can't wait to watch it unfold.

jdex

CSt19,
Occasionally post on football board. Probably more last fall than previously. FYI: Bport, Mville officially aboard in '08-09 for NJAC football play. That makes 10 teams -- each with 9 game conference chart

Obviously, Corts '9' home opener today vs. UC a sNOw go. Red Dragons added Thursday 6 p.m. date at SUNY Farmingdale, and have moved Friday game with Manhattanville to that site at 11 a.m.

Not to drag the Football debate from the E8 room over here but it does have an effect on Cortland.  The new league means they are limited to just one OOC game and that game is spoken for.  This move basically eliminates all schedule flexibility for the Dragons.

what i meant was cortland had 3 OOC games, 2 were Brockport and M'ville.......so they are the same teams just conference now not OOC
