P-State I agree with you ! Not only unfair to both teams but how many innings are they playing in each game?SUNYAC had it set up to play 1 seven inn game and 2 9 inn games on schedule, if they change that format are they going to do it for all the teams?I dont think they will have them play the 2 9 inn games I bet they will all be 7 and if they do it that way they will have to change it for all games I would think.

Well the way it is being presented has the double header, or saturday's games, being played at 9 a.m. and the game from Sunday starting at 2:45 p.m.  I would imagine they keep them at the same amount of innings or you run into the problem that you stated just now Tarheel, and thats obviously a different format than all other games.  Two major concerns for me.  Safety obviously playing that much baseball in one day, and quality of baseball by the end of the day.  Is it still going to be good baseball?  Last year our doubleheader with them lasted over 7 hours.  Add another game onto that and you then expect both Plattsburgh (at Casenovia) and New Paltz (at Ithaca) to play another game the very next day??  And 3 more on the weekend vs. conference opponents.  Stupid to sat the least.

P-State I agree 100% about pitching .Bullpens will be completely depleted and will be a nightmare for those teams to have to play the next day.It sounds as if you will almost have to sacrifice the non-conference games just so you can hope to stay in the conference race.Which in turn can hurt you in the end when trying to make regionals.I think the O-state coach was given the same option and he refused.

3 games in one day is absurd. Every tournament I have ever been a part of both as a coach and as a player has refused to allow a team to play 3 games in one day. Why? Safety. It can harm players physically if proper managing is not done. If I am Doorey or Griffiths I would have refused this outcome.

anybody know if Cortland played today?

Wheaton (IL) played a triple-header at Chapman on Saturday. It happens...
Baseball is not a game that builds character, it is a game that reveals it.

Cortland-Brockport playing one game Monday (2:30 p.m.) and twice Tuesday (one 9, one 7, starting at noon) in Cortland (weather permitting, of course, but it looks OK right now).

Live stats for all the games and radio for Monday (probably no radio Tuesday, but that may change):

Just because it happens doesn't mean it should.  And you're right, it does happen, and it might continue to.  That is until someone gets seriously injured from exhaustion, or worse.  It always sounds like a joke until it happens.

Liberty League foes Skidmore and University of Rochester played a DH on this past saturday in stead of their usual 4 game weekend set. Why not just have New Paltz and Pburgh just play 2 and not play the third?? I don't know if there is a requirement to play all SUNYAC games no matter what. I am assuming there is not if the LL does not have it. I just think 3 games in one day is unsafe, especially in the cold where injuries are more likely. How about being the Starter for the 3rd game, sit around for 5-6 hours until your start. Arm injury waiting to happen. I just think there had to be a more logical to go about playing than a TRIPLEHEADER.
