No offense to c-state but if anyone was at the game and they are not homers they have to admit the umping was atroshish. So far the SUNYAC umpires are some of the worst i have seen in college baseball.at one point i heard one of the coaches say "might as well warm up the buses with these two umping"C-State won both no crying here but something has to be done with sub-par umping.

Brockport        7-5       18-9

Cortland gained the upper hand in chase for home field.  Plattsburgh has a good day winning three and having Fredonia steal one from NP.  Three teams in hunt for last two spots.

Brockport has 3 vs. oneonta, 2 vs. plattsburgh, and one vs. new paltz ... new paltz has 1 vs. fredonia, 1 vs. brockport, and 3 vs. cortland, plattsburgh has 2 vs. brockport. Any predictions who will get the last two seeds?

SCHEDULE NOTE - Saturday's Cortland-Oneonta game is now a 1:30 p.m. start (instead of noon).

I like it to be the usual suspects. Plattsburgh and BPort will get the last two spots. NP has 3 vs cortland in which I think they drop all 3. Plattsburgh and Bport split their two remaining games.

Going with b-port and new paltz ,but i think its a toss up between n paltz and p-burg,i like nps pitching a little better than p-burg.

And from Wednesday ......

SJF 7, Brockport 6
Plattsburgh 12, Lyndon 0
Ithaca 8, Oneonta 6
Oswego 4-3, Cobleskill 0-1

And Tuesday ..........New Paltz 4, John Jay 1

NP needs one win over Cortland this weekend to make playoffs. Certainly not out of the question, though Corts with 10 game win skein and clinching of conference tourney homefield for the umpteenth time. J. Brown has certainly rebuilt his RDragon lineup well. This cast knows how to win, close calls and all. And there's been a barrelful of them, for sure. Deep, talented pitching staff backed by strong defense. J. Adornetto indeed a find! But have to be concerned with the offense. A hitting machine this team is not! From afar we would blame the cold weather for some of that, yes?

Hitting is down across the board..new bats?
Cortland has a slightly better record than last year at this time.
More Conference games = more wins...maybe?
Bottom line is wins.  Good hitting, improved pitching depth and improved defense.
Let's see what the rest of the year brings.
