jdex,

Am I correct in believing that these teams are selected/voted on based on SUNYAC play only, or is it the entire season?

It looks like a solid list, plenty of Cortland players although there are some real head scratchers in there.

Conference coaches make the selections ...........we presume using overall statistics. Those are the stats listed on the SUNYAC site. No breakdown between conference and overall figures. But we would figure coaches would take notice of stats compiled in games they play against conference opponents. Would certainly carry weight as well.

Am sure friend F. Elia can chime in

FranElia

Not 100 percent sure, to be honest, but I think the coaches are looking at a combination of overall stats and conference-only stats and using their best judgment accordingly. For example, Adornetto hit .421 in 18 league games and .373 overall. Angelucci was 5-0 with a 0.55 ERA in league play and 10-1 with a 1.19 ERA overall. While the overall numbers in both cases are very good, the league-only numbers are even better and may have helped influence their selections as top player and pitcher.

One SUNYAC team has already punched their ticket to the D III World Series as the Plattsburgh State Women's Softball Team breezed through the Amherst regional with a 4-0 record to advance to this coming weekend's D III World Series in Salem Virginia. Cardinal Pitcher Ashley Marshall (25-4),  followed up her MVP of the SUNYAC tournament, by being named the Most Outstanding Player of the Regional. Marshal went 3-0 with 3 complete games over the weekend.

Cortland wins their first game of the DIII World Series as they defeat Kean 10-5. Big 7 run 4th inning for the Red Dragons to put the game away.

All the Cortland contest highlights on the D3baseball cover page, including a closing note that RDragons' Saturday foe, Wheaton of Mass., and CSt clashed in early March in Florida. Twas Wheaton's season opener while Corts were closing out 7-1 F.L.A. trip.

In February, CSt. in an 0-3 season start dropped a 7-6 issue to Chris Newport, another WS participant currently in an 11-4 opening hole vs. St. Thom. And last October saw the Dragons split a pair of benefit exhibitions at perhaps WS favored Marietta.

Today's victory was Joe Brown's club's 40th

Cortland's run comes to an end as they drop an elimination game to St. Thomas 7-6. Red Dragons down by 3 runs entering the 9th, put runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. J. Adornetto singles through the right side to score 1 run and leave runners on the corners. Next Cortland batter hits into a 6-4-3 double play scoring the runner from 3rd, but next batter strikes out to end the game and send the Red Dragons home. Still was a heck of a year for Cortland as they finish with a 41-9-1 record and come in 4th in the country. Congratulations to all the Red Dragon players and coaches. They once again made the SUNYAC stand out.

Has anyone heard any updates on the Oneonta debacle?

Has anyone heard any updates on the Oneonta debacle?
Which one?

The one where the Athletic Director unwarrantedly fired the head coach of 16 seasons and hired an interim coach to lead them to their first losing season in almost two decades. Has anyone heard if she's trying to patch things up, or should we assume Oneonta's baseball program has gone down the proverbial drain due to this dictatorship?

Both the NCAA and the SUNYAC have the Oneonta State head coaching job open. One would imagine that the school now will conduct a traditional search.
