Wow, 26-6 thats a rough outing for Oneonta just wonder if thats a sign of things to come for that program. Only time will tell. New paltz taking 1 from # 9 Salisbury was a good win for them. Brockport kept its hot start rolling picking up 2 wins from St. Josephs (LI) 13-2, 11-3 from a look at the box score Brockport routed them with the help of 13 errors between the two games. Brockport has a local game with RIT this tuesday. Cortland still seems to be the powerhouse they usually are.

Cortland will undoubtedly lose their #1 ranking when this week's new poll comes out. The Red Dragons have gone 3-3 since the last poll which saw them move into the top spot. It will be interesting to see how far they tumble. I think they will remain in the top 10 and hopefully can work their way back up the ladder.

jdex

Certainly would not think Cortland tumbles from top 10 if pollsters are paying attention. But don't believe Joe Brown would be disappointed this early where ever he lands. He'll gladly take 10-4. Those four losses come to good teams as he prepares a very deep lineup. Uses many position players extensively, and five and six pitchers in nearly every game. Close losses have been to Salisbury (a split vs. 13-2 Gulls ranked No. 6 in week 3); up and coming 11-2 first season NCAA Spalding (KY); 15th ranked 5-2 Western New England (which plays Rowan today and ranked Ramapo Wed); and 8-2 Rowan (a split and leaving bases loaded in the ninth of a 5-4 Sat. fall).

If anything a clutch hit here or there could have helped, and the defense of late a bit shaky following a strong start ..............Just an opinion from afar ...

Look for Webster (MO) to make a top 25 appearance this week. Starting the season slowly including a 10-3 slip to Cortland, including recent wins over No. 2 Marietta and No. 25 Augustana to run winning streak to four.
