Cortland vs. Fredonia switch DH to today,  single game Saturday at CSt. Weather perhaps moving in Saturday

Conference regular season draws to close this weekend. Cortland (13-2) has already again wrapped up first place and tourney hosts' role May 2-4. Rest of tourney field of four still unset though current runnerup Oswego (9-6) with homestanding Friday/Saturday three-game series vs. Plattsburgh (5-10) seems a lock.
Brockport (8-7) at present is third with key Fri/Sat home three-gamer vs. current fourth place Oneonta (6-7). Vitally interested in that series is fifth place New Paltz (6-10) which has doubleheader Sunday at Oneonta.
Even current cellar dwellers Plattsburgh and Fredonia (5-10) with playoff breath, though slight. Fredonia finishes with
Fri/Sat three-game set at Cortland.

New Paltz also home in Saturday DH vs. Ithaca

Plattsburgh State's JD Jenkins has a no hitter going through 6 innings against Oswego in game 2 of their double-header. Cardinals can't score any runs either as it's 0-0 going into the top of the 7th. Jenkins just got out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the 6th when he issued a 2 out walk, then hit a batter and issued another walk. Got the Laker's 3 hole hitter to pop up to end the threat.

Jenkins pitches a no hitter for 7 innings and if the Cardinal bats had scored just a single run he would have had the 1st no hitter in Plattsburgh State history. The Lakers get their first hit in the bottom of the 8th inning and that runner was erased on a double play. The Lakers finally score a run in the bottom of the 9th when Dan Saccicio was hit by a pitch, stole 2nd and went to 3rd when the next batter had a bunt single. Jenkins struck out the next batter and then intentionally walked clean-up hitter, Tim Smith to load the bases. Kyle Liner then singled to drive in the winning run. The 1-0 loss cost the Cardinals a chance at making the playoffs. Had they won that game and if New Paltz and Oneonta spit their Sunday doubleheader then the Cards would have grabbed the 4th seed.

Tough loss for the Cardinals and JD Jenkins but that was the story of the Cardinals for the entire season. Too many late inning tough losses that produced one heartbreaker after another.

Cortland shut down 3-1 by Fredonia senior S. Larson in Devils' final game. Badly bruised in Friday's DH, Freds with 13 hits and M. Prentice's two-out two-rbi single in seventh. Breaks 1-1 deadlock. Larson shines with six-hitter, 1bb, 6k in route-going performance. Matches CSt's B. Serio (6.1inn, 1r, 8h, 1bb, 4k) who registers first out in seventh, then yanked. Two relievers falter -- major season-long concern. Devils with four hits to score one in the first. RDragons score in second. Prentice 3x4, 2bi; K. Koslwski 2x4, r; R. Mendiola 1x3, 2r; B. Frantz 2x4, bi. Cortland's M. Rosing 2x3. S. Komanecky absorbs pitching loss. Devils end six-game CSt win streak

Plattsburgh posts three in the 10th and Y. Osawa sets Oswego down 1-2-3 for 9-6 win in Oswego.  Bases full walks to pinch-hitter M. Varques and Osawa give Cards the lead. Error gets ninth run. Both sides resilient. Oswego in ninth with two-outs and no one aboard ......eventually scores on wild pitch for 6-6 tie. Walk starts it and J. Curry delivers single. Plattsburgh scores four in top of ninth to take 6-5 lead. L. Weaver triples for two runs with two outs against just-inserted reliever who notches inning-ending strikeout. Five hits in Cards ninth. They finish with 11, Lakers 15. Oswego finishes 10-8 in SUNYAC, Pburgh 7-11

Brockport dominates Oneonta 10-5. Five-run sixth inning pivotal. W. Burghardt 2x4, r, 3bi; M. Gianni, D. Hurlimann, L. Mastellone with two rbi apiece. Port throws five pitchers, Oneonta four. RDragon D. Wright 4x5, r

New Paltz tumbles twice at home to Ithaca, 7-2, 11-1 in seven-inning contests

Conference fourth place playoff berth to be determined between Oneonta and New Paltz in Sunday's DH between the pair in Oneonta. Oneonta 6-10, NP 6-10. New Paltz needs sweep. Oneonta with leg up on strength of early April win. Thus should split and identical records occur, Oneonta advances with series edge vs. NP.
Cortland (15-2) top seed and May 2-4 tourney host.  Brockport (11-7) second seed, Oswego (10-8) third.
Plattsburgh could indeed windup with as many conference wins as Oneonta and New Paltz. But Pburgh lost both season series
