Cortland at 6-0 atop the weekly D3 poll with all 25 No. 1 votes. Corts get current poll mention Johns Hopkins in single games Saturday and Sunday in Baltimore

Brockport at 5-0 gets poll mention in the 27th slot but surprisingly no where to be found among the 30-plus mentions is 4-0 Oswego whose Lakers in our mind will very much be a conference contender. Very formidable in every area and frosh catcher C. Thompson named to the D3 national team of the week

Last week's national team included Corts' seniors C. Griffin (2b) and F. Ricci (of)

jdex,

Just stopping by to see what's been happening. Great recaps. I now know all about the teams southern jaunts without having to go to a bunch of different websites.

Cortland off to a great start. Love the #1 ranking which is right where they should be after such an impressive start. Tough loss not having Weingarten back on the mound. Perhaps the senior D1 transfer you mention, Tanner Whiteman, can make up for the loss.

Red Dragons 8-0 start certainly look like Coach Brown has filled many of those holes you were talking about. Sounds like they will be in the mix once again for the Big Doorstop. Oswego and Brockport also opening up with impressive southern campaigns. Looking like my Cardinals will have another less than stellar year. Definitely need some better bats.

Looking forward to a certain Southern Maine shortstop having another banner year. I see he's already accumulated some honors...Preseason All American team and named to the Golden Spikes Award watch list, the only D3 player on that list. Hoping these are just the first of many awards he may garner in this, his final season. Back to back Player of the Year awards would be nice. Probably asking to much but who knows.

Looking forward to your summaries. 8-)
