Cortland splits Sunday action in Greensboro NC to windup season opening three day play in D3 Showcase. RDragons defeat Christopher Newport VA 7-1 in afternoon game before dropping 14-11 evening verdict to Denison OH.
  D. Tierney slugs go-ahead fourth inning two-run homer against Chris Newport's Captains. Lefty N. Jesson hurls six innings for the win. Yields two singles in his first five pitches but Captains manage just one more for the game. CN scores in the first inning, then blanked by Jesson (WP 6inn, 3h, r, er, 2bb, 2k, 69p), Wagner transfer N. Hanson (2.1inn, 6k, 2hbp) and frosh T. Elkins (.2inn, 1k). Trinity needed this badly. RD's taking 2 in San Antonio is impressive.
I am re-evaluating TUTx as a Top 10 team, which I would have expected to take 3 of 4.

Thanks for coming to Texas.
