So to hear you tell it, Manbearpig, being a conference coach of the year means you should get into the NCAAs?

Plattsburgh has had many, many very good players, most of them from some great programs in Section 2 and Section 7. I take nothing away from them. I applaud them.

My issue is the fraudulent way they were touted as a national elite team this year, playing that schedule.

And if we want to tackle "the integrity of the game," please defend why they scheduled who they did.

Integrity?

Your point is taken. So I'll be more positive: I'm POSITIVE they'll be in the NCAAs even after going 0-2 or, at best, 1-2 this weekend.

Truthfinder

Strictly a guess here, but I'd think that Plattsburgh will finish as the No. 2 seed (based on better record in three-team mini-conference among those tied at 7-5), with Brockport third and Oneonta fourth.

I haven't seen pairings, but that's my guess.

I think Brockport is primed for a big weekend. They've got to wake up sometime.

While we are on the subject of integrity.I would like to make note that both Fredonia & New Paltz played with plenty of it this weekend. Fredonia played New Paltz to a split which killed whatever shot New Paltz had. Both team went to their Sunday games with nothing to play for and Fredonia beat Onenota in the suspended game and New paltz held a 7-1 lead late against Brockport. The outcome of those two games have a impact on the seedings in the tournament this weekend. They could have "mailed ' those games in and been done but they did the right thing and played hard.hats off to both clubs for playing hard. This juggling might not have much impact but only time will tell

Fact: St. Micheal's is closer to Plattsburgh than Skidmore.

Besides, Plattsburgh and St. Mike's play each other every year.

Jeez, you guys need more to do.

Truthfinder

John, the distance is irrelevant here. You should know better. Plattsburgh was supposed to go to Skidmore. Instead the Cards made St Mikes a doubleheader at home.

Whatever. This argument is as boring to me as the 10-minute flip-cammed coaches show on the Plattsburgh website. "Thanks for joining us. Thanks for having me. Well my office is right next door. And it's our secret that you're not wearing pants."

reddragon00

I don not think that Plattsburgh is an NCAA team.  I agree with the schedule.......weak!!!!  There are a lot of teams with "Good Seasons" that get left out and unless the Cards can make it to the championship game of the SUNYACS, they are out....but Doorey is on the committee so....he will push his DH with St, Mikes in with his team....WEAK!!!

John McGraw

Usually the way these things work is that if you are on the committee and your team comes up, you leave the room or the teleconference.

Also, I feel bad for the real Plattsburgh fans like Kyle (ex-players in this case) and magicman that have come in here to legitimately talk about their team and are responded to by complete and utter nonsense from some area clowns that are only popping up to complain and throw around garbage.

I agree this PLattsburgh discussion is getting old...so they play a weak schedule, lets get over it and move on. If they have a good showing this weekend, then they deserve the bid, if they go 0-2 or 1-2 then they wont get a bid. I think the Doorey conspiracy theories need to come to a halt...What is Platts had lost all these "cupcake" games what would the story be then? This really is a double-edged sword for Plattsburgh...

My predictions for the weekend

Game 1-Platts beats Brockport in a close one
Game 2-Cortland beats Filak in another close one, I just think its gonna be to hard for him to beat Cortland twice

Game 3-Brockport over Oneonta
Game 4-Cortland over Plattsburgh in a laugher
Game 5-Brockport over PLattsburgh in a close one with both teams not having many arms left

Game 6-Cortland spanks Brockport..Cortland will have a rested staff, while Brockport will be throwing
end of the rotation guys

Looks good to me.  I got Plattsburgh over Brockport and Oneonta over Cortland on Day 1.  Cortland over Brockport and Oneonta over Plattsburgh, then Cortland over PLattsburgh and Cortland over Oneonta twice.

Also, I would like to propose a motion.  Whenever we refer to truthfinder can we please refer to him as Silky Johnson? Player Hater of the Year, 2002.

Then the other clown has to be either Beautiful, Buck Nasty or Pyuck You.

I had to take a good 20 minutes to laugh this off... I dig the Chappelle's Show reference.  I am willing to bet that we see some more hate from Silky, especially if Plattsburgh goes 0-2, or even 1-2.  It's just going to be a whole bunch of "I told you so" stuff, coupled with "they are garbage" and "Plattsburgh should have listened to me (Silky) and scheduled tougher teams."  And hold on to your socks if they get an unexpected at-large bid into the regionals.  The focus will be on conspiracy not strategy, or success.

I do see the Plattsburgh-Brockport game being very close.  I think Plattsburgh's bats will wake up, and Brockport will not kill themselves with errors this time around.  These are the adjustments that both teams need to make.  Plattsburgh will have to hold on to the lead if they get one, which they couldn't do in their first contest against Brockport.

Cortland-Oneonta will be the game to watch.  Dominant pitching vs. outstanding hitting.  This one will depend on how long Filak can stay dominant for.  I believe he will be the one on the mound, as he should be.  It would be the best chance they have to get in the winners bracket.  Cortland's pitchers will have to keep Oneonta at bay, and I have full confidence that they can.

1-  Plattsburgh over Brockport
2-  Cortland over Oneonta

3-  Brockport over Oneonta
4-  Cortland over Plattsburgh
5-  Brockport over Plattsburgh... Plattsburgh doesn't respond well to a beating

6-  Cortland over Brockport

I hate making predictions, but this is my best guess.  1-5 doesn't matter much because I'm confident that Cortland will, once again, take the crown.  They have too much offensive and pitching depth.  After all, I don't live in a fantasy world where Plattsburgh will breeze through the opposition.  Let's just see some good baseball!

Question:  Will Cortland be broadcasting all the games on internet-radio?

StagnantFLY

Truthfinder is the man honestly. People hate the truth and he loves dishing it out there!!! Coach Doorey got SUNYAC coach of the yr...so did Ferchen from Oneonta who does the least with a ton of talent. SUNYAC is a solid conference but not a conference with many strong coaches besides Cortland and Oswego

FranElia

Yes, Cortland Internet Radio is planning on broadcasting ALL games (not just Cortland's) from the SUNYAC Baseball Tournament (in addition to all the SUNYAC softball, men's lax and women's lax tournament action at Cortland this week). We will also try to provide live stats for some of the games, if not all - depends on staffing issues.

Hopefully by Wednesday I will have a SUNYAC Baseball tournament web page set up that will include links to audio and live stats coverage, plus scores and box scores during the tournament.

Thanks for the info.  Wish I could be there, but at least I'll be able to have a few while listening to the games.
