BaseballEliteNY

i dont think manhattanville will head to auburn. they will most likely go to the kean regional.  i think a pool c from the njac or little east will head to ny, with the other  4 teams being cst brockport farmingdale and rochester/clarkson
Omar Minaya is a GREAT general manager. . .

AlleyCat

What about St John Fisher? Do you think they have a shot at a pool B?

John McGraw

Fisher should definitely be a Pool B into New York.

Manhattanville is closer to Trenton IMO than it is to Auburn. I suspect as well that the Valiants will be heading to TD Waterfront Park instead.

However, you still should have 2-3 teams from out of the region coming to Auburn. Likely suspects will be from the Mid-Atlantic, New England and Mideast.

Just started reading this board, but Truthfinder...get a life.  You act like Doorey and the Cardinals are criminals for wanting to make the tournament and self promoting.  Forgive them for trying to play at the highest level they can...Did Doorey run over your dog?  Or are the attacks just so you can go for the record of lowest karma ever on D3 boards?

Find a team and right something positive about them.

I'll right, er, write what I want. Is that all write, er, right?

If they can self-promote, why can't I present the counterargument?

UPDATE: Plattsburgh hasn't updated stats yet after the ouster from SUNYACs, but here's one that had me fall off my chair. Their ace had an unbelievable 10.35 ERA against teams in his conference this season.

Last year in the LL tournament, RPI wound up playing 2.8 games on Sunday as they needed to finish 8 innings against Skidmore, then beat Clarkson once, and then lost to Clarkson in a winner-take-all.  This was done so that they wouldn't merely give the conference tournament to Clarkson, with the continuation of Skidmore/RPI beginning around 7 AM to make sure the games would all be played.  The LL had a few tournaments end prematurely due to weather and realized this should not happen so they played almost 3 entire games on the Sunday before the bracket was released.  I guess I just don't understand why 2.8 is acceptable but 3 is a serious no-no.  And I understand the SUNYAC had the bi-laws that the tourny had to be done on Sunday or whatever, but I think it was do-able to actually finish the tournament, so that should have been done.

I'm fine with not agreeing with everything a team does or puts out...but you take it over the top.  I would love to hear what you think about the upcoming NY regional.  Skidmore would be a tough out with their dominant staff.  Should be a good one and it will not include Plattsburgh.  Who you think is the most dangerous team out there?

The most dangerous team out there?
Um, let's see.
Cortland.
If not them, then Cortland.
And if not them, then Cortland.

Oh I get it now...your an elitist Cortland fan.

You asked who was the most dangerous. I could have said Le Moyne's swim team and you would have answered "Oh I get it now...your an elitist Le Moyne swim fan."

Brilliant reasoning.

Oh, it's you're, genius.

Alright, so I have been sitting back and watching as Truth went on about Plattsburgh... and I have watched as everyone argued with Truth and what not. Well, I 100% agree with Truth. He is absolutely correct about Plattsburgh. Having a good record against no one doesn't mean anything. Yes, he can do whatever he wants to try to promote his team... but what kind of defense will he have when they ask why his team is deserving? Because they had a good record? What about conference play and the conference tournament? Look at what Joe Brown does at Cortland, he tries to schedule the toughest games for his team to prepare them for SUNYAC play. I remember a few years back Cortland was down in Florida and JB tried playing then #1 Otterbein (I think thats how you spell it) but Otterbein did not want to play Cortland. Coach Doorey could very well have done the same. The schedule is never set in stone and just because they are far away from other teams, doesn't mean they can't go out and play someone. If you want to get your team on the national stage then you do what it takes to make that happen. Take a 4 hour trip to play a solid team, show them what you are about and if you prove to be a competitive team then maybe the following year that team will try to schedule you because you are a worthy competetor. Playing St. Michaels and playing the Wisconsin State Chastis jv team isn't going to make you a better or improve your overall ranking when it comes down to fighting for a pool C bid, if you lose your conference tournament - which they obviously did.
Omar Minaya is a GREAT general manager. . .

John McGraw

BTW, the all-conference team is posted on the league web site. Simone is the Player of the Year and Filak the Pitcher of the Year.

One player is listed as UT/DP. Oops.

Don't take this as me sticking up for Truth.  I think his fascination with Plattsburgh has seeped into "creepy" territory.....but "elitist" Cortland Fan??   Have you ever been there?  I love the place, but there is nothing elitist about the school, team or fans.  Were you trying to come up with another word?   There are a lot of schools in upstate that you could make that argument, but Cortland?  Dragons are the only ones on this board not acting like idiots over the past 3 weeks.

Truthfinder

Creepy? I get facts, I post them, I shoot giant holes in the delusions that Plattsburgh was one of the nation's best teams.

You want to see creepy, look at their coach's show on YouTube, or get the scoop on how they actually practice standing in formation for the national anthem.

I'm merely making sure people are informed.

The SUNYAC tourney needs to start on Thursday, period end of story. Weather is iffy at best in NY and this type of stuff happens! The only other logical thing that could be done is move the SUNYAC tournament to a place like Delutis field in Rome.  There are 2 fields in the same place and you could play 2 games at the same time if need be! That way, in the case of bad weather, you could get a double elim 4 teamer over very quickly! Bad thing about Delutis is there isnt a campus atmosphere, which at Cortland was always awesome! Start the Tourney a day early and the only way the tourney doesn't get played is a total washout!
On a side note, even as a C-State baseball Alum, I am very happy for Brockport getting in the regional. Tom McCormick, Brockport's SS is a former player of mine and has busted his behind and deserves to experience a regional! Yeah T-Mac
