Now that is a heck of a sweep.  The NY region had a pretty good day yesterday.

Could have been referring to Fisher's 11-10 win over respected Aurora yesterday and today's 10-2 beating of Juniata (as we see from Empire board). Otherwise, Fredonia on Thursday fell twice to Wheaton, MA, 17-0 and 10-2, at Fort Myers, and Brockport dropped a pair yesterday to Penn St.-Altoona, 7-4 and 3-2, in Auburndale, FL. Today in Fort Myers has Plattsburgh vs. Baruch, and Fredonia vs. Wilmington, Oh

Yeah, I think Airball is a Fisher fan. So any day they win is a good day for him.

Cortland over Rhode Island College today 12-0.

Just a fan of the good teams in our region.  For those of you hoopsters who also follow baseball, Cortlands wins over Wittenburg and TCNJ combined with Fisher's win over Aurora gives the region some high profile wins against some perennially powerful programs.  This would be comparable to Oswego or Hobart in hoops beating programs like Amherst, Williams etc... The NY region competes pretty darn tough against some of the the national "power" programs.  I wouldn't put Fredonia in that mix, and Brockport losing both is a bit of a surprise, but it is pretty clear that these two teams are probably the top two in the region for now.

Why compare it to basketball?

Cortland's R. Angelucci and R. McAlary combine to pitch the shutout. Angelucci opens with 7.1 innings and permits 3h with 2bb an 5k. McAlary has 3k and doesn't give a hit or walk. RDragons score in six frames including two in the first, one in the second and four in the eighth. M. LeTempa is 3x4, 3r and two 2bh; J. Andonetto 2x3, 3r; PJ Rinaldi 2x3; M. June 2bi, 3r; M. Wild 2bi. RI College making its season debut. Corts 6-4 ...................indeed 12-0 final

Why compare to hoops? My take is East failing to usually get much respect in roundball. Whataya say airball?

Also Friday, Brockport swept by PS-Altoona 7-4 and 3-2. Fredonia clips Wilmington, Oh 7-5

Good lord boys.  Just trying to point out the impressive wins by Cortland and Fisher.  U r right, there is no comparison to hoops, both Fisher and Dragons have put out some pro guys.  Obviously, that would never happen in hoops.  I was responding to a comment by someone on here who stated I was a fan of a team.  Check the posts over the past couple of years, I am a fan of Cortland, Brockport, and others.  Sorry boys, I guess I didn't state how impressed I was buy the wins for both of those teams against real good programs who also have weather advantages.  Thanks for the score updates by the way, Jdex.
