The fall baseball season is right around the corner. What's the scuttlebutt on the SUNYAC? Who is coming back, new comers, etc.?

jdex

Cortland less then two weeks from opening season under veteran skipper Joe Brown, with 15 games in mid-Atlantic and the south. Plenty of clashes with respected NCAA tourney tested opposition. RDragons debut Feb. 15 with DH at Mary Washington's Fredericksburg, Va. campus. Hook up with that Capital AC '13 runnerup in single game the following day. Corts on Feb. 22-23 play single games at CAC '13 champ Salisbury in Maryland. On March 1-2 in Newport News, Va. play Montclair and host Chris Newport the first day, and Chris Newport the second. Oneonta at Dixie Conference strongboy Chris Newport on Feb. 21.

Dragons of Cortland make annual Florida pilgrimage to Florida March 9-15 for Russ Matt Invite in central sunshine state. Play St. Louis' Webster Gorlocks March 9 and the next day have dates with RPI and Franklin & Marshall. March 11 finds them vs. Penn St. Abington. Idle on the 12th. Face Wheaton, Mass. on the 13th and NCAA D3 tourney runnerup Southern Maine on the 14th. Wind up vs. Clarkson at Leesburg on the 15th.

In addition to Southern Maine, other '13 nat'l tourney qualifiers on the early C-St slate are Salisbury (33-9), Webster (37-12), RPI (eliminated by Corts in regional), F&M (23-21), and PS Abington (22-22). Chris Newport was ranked throughout '13, went 29-12-1 but missed tourney.

Cortland begins northern season March 19 home vs. Ithaca, which reached '13 World Series. RPI should again be a NY force after going 30-15 with a young squad.
