Congratulations to Cortland for another great season on the diamond. Lots of returning players next year so I'm sure Coach Brown will have another solid team.

    Cortland making preseason trip to the Dominican Republic from Jan. 16-22. Ranked eighth nationally in Collegiate Baseball's preseason, Red Dragons scheduled to bring 33 players and four coaches and play exhibition games versus college-age Dominican players at variety of venues, with some games likely occurring against Major League Baseball Academy teams. All 30 MLB teams have academies in Dominican Republic. In addition, Cortland players and coaches are tentatively scheduled to participate in youth clinics and community service work, as well as attend Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League game. Trip made possible by money raised through donations from Cortland baseball alumni as well as through number of team-held clinics.
    Dragons open their season in mid-February with three games in Ashland VA vs. host Randolph Macon and Pitt Bradford. Six games booked in Maryland before March 6 home opener at newly turfed Bob Wallace Field vs. Clarkson. Spring break March action in Lexington SC has nine games, fiinal three vs. Brockport to start conference slate. C-land skipper Joe Brown in his 21st season.

     Cortland arrives in Dominican yesterday and enjoys some free time at the pool before afternoon practice in Gautier. Has morning game with Hiroshima Carp Academy in San Pedro de Macoris and overcomes 2-0 deficit to come back and win 3-2. Team spends afternoon at the beach.
      RDragons also land favorites' role in SUNYAC '20 coaches poll which casts Oswego second, Brockport third, Fredonia, Oneonta and New Paltz sharing fourth, followed by Plattsburgh

      Cortland this morning in Santo Domingo beats the Dominican Army 5-3. In the afternoon tours country's historic colonial zone. On Saturday runs clinic for 80 Dominican kids, then defeats Bueyes of Gautier 6-2

     Cortland had day off from baseball  and enjoyed beach at Isla Saon and team dinner at the beach in Boca Chica. Was back on the field Tuesday and won final game against group of young aspiring MLB prospects at the Paulino Academy in San Pedro.  Team in the afternoon did community service and painted a house

Cortland outlasts Salisbury Sea Gulls 10-9 in test of ranked squads in Maryland. RDragons' M. Bruno and D. Coleman tag fourth inning solo home runs helping Corts hold 6-5 lead into the bottom of the seven inning. Gulls use three bases loaded walks and run-scoring wild pitch to seize 9-6 edge before K. Taborne -- fourth pitcher in the inning, quiets things. Dragons immediately answer with four scores in the top of the eighth. S. Kippen pokes two-run double, J. Tardif one-out tying rbi single to center and M. Bruno two-out go-ahead single to left.
