Just got word that Brian Meehan a former Plattsburgh State baseball player passed away on sunday due to his battle with cancer. Our thoughts and prayers to his family friends and the plattsburgh team.

Bob Maxwell

Our thoughts and prayers also to his family...

SUNYAC picks up again this weekend, with:

Brockport in NewJersey against Rutgers Camden, Rowan and Kean.  Hope the weather stays away... its iffy right now, but it changes every couple hours.

Plattsburgh is also in New Jersey at Rutgers-Newark and Stevens Tech

Cortland is in Phoenix, while Oneonta is in Florida.

So here we go...

John McGraw

Cortland begins their spring trip to Arizona today. The Red Dragons enter the valley of the sun at 2-1 after some wins on the season's opening weekend.

March 9 - vs. #12 Wheaton (Mass.)  (@ Tempe, Ariz.)
March 10 - vs. #13 New Jersey (@ Chandler, Ariz.)
March 11 - vs. #12 Wheaton (Mass.) (@ Chandler, Ariz.)
March 12 - vs. #13 New Jersey (@ Chandler, Ariz.)
March 13 - vs. Bowdoin (@ Chandler, Ariz.)
March 14 - vs. Dickinson (@ Scottsdale, Ariz.)
March 15 - vs. Johns Hopkins (@ Chandler, Ariz.)
March 16 - vs. William Paterson (@ Mesa, Ariz.)

The Red Dragons open up their home schedule on March 29 with a doubleheader against Brockport. Those late March doubleheaders in upstate New York are not fun, but if it's not snowing and the field is playable, they will play. Second half of Cortland's schedule has a majority of home games.

Cortland wins today 8-4 over Wheaton (Mass.).  Matt Tone with a solid start and Mike Zaccardo hits his first HR of the year.

After two days of terrential rains, Brockport drops two to Kean,  2-8 & 3-4.

If the field at Kean was natural grass, I doubt the games would have been played... the infill turf was a great surface and got the games played!

Red Dragons start N. Blanco. Goes three innings, allows 6 hits, 2 runs but Rowland relief lends fuel. Bilyk in best showing in 3+ innings and just a run. K. Heaton touched up a bit as finisher. A. Gardner 2x3 with an rbi, Zaccaro 1x4 and rbi

Oneonta loses to Baruch 4-2... ouch

The game that they played against each other a few days ago, Ackerman struck out 17 Baruch batters.  Great job!

The score for that game is reported differently on the two teams web sites (17-2 by Oneonta and 16-2 by Baruch)... anyone konw which is correct?  may be just a typo on the Oneonta page as they don't have up a box score yet and Baruch does...

Two Thumbs up to the Plattsbugh St baseball team for coming and leading the crowd at all of the
mens basketball games the past couple of weeks.   I think almost the whole team sits together (in red)
and stands the whole game.  Very vocal, lots of spirit and nobody gets out of hand.

Expect me to do the same when your team visits my area or I get up to Plattsburgh again.

Coach Doorey, you need to stick to baseball, you would not make a good basketball ref  ;D

Billy Davis wins the "Wild Thing" award for being the wacky bull pen ace.
He is a decorated in red and white at basketball games similar to Mel Gibson in Brave Heart.
The team thanks you for your courage and support, Billy.   ;)

Is Fredonia st. going to be good this yr???? Looking at the roster, they seem to have a bunch of returning kids that were pretty good last yr!

1. Cortland
2. Fredonia
3. Plattsburgh
4. Oneonta/Brockport

Yes Fredonia will be good this year scuba. No one ever talks about Fredonia, or the fact they were one run away from making it to the tournament last year...
