Bob....

Great job!!!  Your method makes a ton of sense.  Not to be cute or sarcastic, but would you mind doing one of those for the Liberty League?   ;)

OOPS... error found in the rank for batting averages.  DeVito is 2nd with .459 and Perham is 3rd with .442.  Sorry about that... my eyes must have crossed lines.
???

Boomer, would take way to long... and I will be out of the house first thing in the morning for the weekend, hopefully watching baseball and not RAIN in Cortland.  Just print out the league conference stats and start doodling...  ;D

Two more little tweaks in the typing and column alignment.

For Vitalne, he has 15 RBI's and is tied for second inthe conference... somehow I got some spaces between the digits 1 and 5

For outifelder Wes O'Connell... he started 10 confernece games, not 0... must have just not typed the 1.

Just want to be clear with the numbers as its hard enough to read with the columns misaligned.

;)

Wes O'Connor... s ???orry Wes!

cortland 15 pburgh 7, cortland knocked kelly out of the game in the 3rd by andy gardner blasting two balls of him one on his forearm. They put 5 up on him in the 3rd with a costly error by plattsburgh. After that cortland put a number up in every inning off pburghs relief. Cortland really showed its ability to just flat out outslug a team today. Tomorrow is brockport vs pburgh early followed by cortland oneonta after.

13-4 Cortland over Oneonta. Matt Tone 13 k's in 6.2 innings of work.
Oneonta struck out 15 times all together, not a good way to win a ballgame!

SUNYAC final:
Cortland 12, Brockport 5

No more thoughts on the conference teams... until they come out?

Interesting weekend, two good and close games between Brockport and Oneonta... and the others, well that explains the lack of traffic on here.

Three SUNYAC and two Empire 8 teams in the ECAC's... anyone think a sweep of that tournament will do for any of the teams what it did for SJF last year?

Big Louie

I think RIT, Oneonta and Brockport each may have a shot if they run the table.....I can't see SJF or Oswego getting in

HotSoupTrio

Another decent SUNYAC tournament.....

Once again it just comes down to pitching. Cortland runs out 12 guys who would be top notch front end guys on any other team. Close the gap on pitching and then maybe then maybe the SUNYAC tournament might have a different outcome.

What is everyone's take on the upcoming ECAC tournament, is a 3-0 record in the tournament going to get anyone in Regionals?

AlleyCat

I don't think anyone who could be in the ECAC tournament should have a shot at the NCAA's. Both SUNYAC's have already had a shot and did nothing to prove they deserve to be in. The only way it could be a tournament that could mean something is if Ithaca would go and they won't.  They like the fact the they have a bye into the NCAA's and until the tournament committee makes them do something special they will never put their automatic bid at risk.

I think SJF getting in last year was a mistake.

The ECAC tournament is a losers tournament and they should not be rewarded for the second chance. Also you have to remember that the LL can't be represented in this due to their league tournament being played at the same time.

I would have to say that no one should go from this tournament.

Big Louie

AlleyCat your definately entitled your opinion but before you start hammering the teams in ECAC's remember how the system works.  Maybe you forgot how good Cortland was??? They didnt win 32 gms in a row by accident, to say the SUNYAC's school did nothing to prove there in is kind of bold statement.  They would have done about as much as the liberty runner up if you ask me and everyone seems to have RPI or UOFR as a lock to make the tourney.

Whether SJF getting in was a mistake or not that fact of the matter was with 14 POOL C bids and 8 regionals the likelihood of NY Region at least recieving 1 bid is pretty damn good....and SJF had a 26-11 In-region record

Your right about Ithaca as well they just go out win some games against weaker competition, and just get a pass into the regionals. This yr they really havent beaten anyone worthy other than perhaps UOFR

All in all some good points AlleyCat, but before you say no one should go from the ECAC you should really think about the big picture, and I to sometimes think of the ECAC tourney as a loser tourney, but with the current system in place its a way for someone in the NY region to say there the best of the rest and maybe earn themselves a spot in the NCAA's

AlleyCat

Good point, but one league's top 4 (LL) cannot compete due to their league tournament being held on the same weekend. Why should some teams have 2 shots at it and others one?

I think if Ithaca and the another good Empire 8 along with some other teams got together in the ECAC's then it could be a tourney that should receive consideration for a bid.

Nobody is disputing that Cortland is AWESOME! But those other SUNYAC's have many loses compared to some other NY teams.

Big Louie

Your right its tough that the Liberty League can't compete and Ithaca won't compete.

You say the other SUNYAC's have many loses, but do you realize that the In-region record is main criteria for making the NCAA tourney.

To look at some of the teams Oneonta is 20-12, Brockport 19-10-1, RIT 20-9

RIT also plays a DH today with Oswego if they can win that and go 3-0 in the ECAC that will put them at 25-9...it will be tough for them to be left out with single digit region loses

Looking at some of the other teams RPI is 24-10 and UofR is 26-11 and one of them will definately add two more loses to that record this weekend
