Tommies nip the Swedish Kings and maintain possession of The BeltTm.  St. Thomas heads to Bethel Wednesday with the added bonus of it being an important MIAC game.  Esp. for St. Thomas

St. Thomas takes The BeltTm to Northfield, MN and Carleton College Saturday.  I ran across an old pickup truck sitting in a field somewhere in the U.P. of Michigan this fall with the faded letters "Carleton College" on the side and wondered what kind of stories it could tell to end up in such a place.

Maybe it was a premonition.

Who would have thunk that the Tommies would relinquish the possession of The BeltTM, only to regain ItTM and all its beauty a month later and probably bring ItTM into the national tourney come March!

Sac, it will be an ugly battle in Northfield, I will be watching to see if you had a premonition this fall!  ;D

You think they'll run the table or lose and regain it in the conference tourney?

It is so tough to run the table in the MIAC with 20 conference games and most of the teams being solid. With that being said, the toughest game of the Tommies season was last night at Bethel without their stud PG you all remember from the natty tournament last year, Grant Schaeffer (sprained ankle). But I bet they slip up one or two times in the regular season but they will regain The BeltTM and all its glory in the conference tourney.

Tommie the Tomcat:  "Challenge accepted.  Hold my beer, watch this"

St. Thomas 62  Carleton 61  OT

Tommies needed a 'Furious' overtime rally to maintain The BeltTm, coming from 8 point down with 3:11 in overtime to play and not allowing a single Carleton ballplayer to put the ball in the peach basket again.  Conner Bair's tip-in with 2 seconds left wins the day, and The BeltTm

As a consolation a Carleton player was allowed to accumulate 25 rebounds in a school record effort.

St. Thomas is home Wed. night as they host St. Olaf

A thought occurred with regards to The BeltTM and the sanctions Stevens Point is facing. Would having to vacate any wins mean the vacate The BeltTM? Or is ItTM beyond the silly rules the mortals at the NCAA have created, and thus ItTM will not be retroactively removed from the presence of the Pointers back in their national title season? My inclination would be the latter, but I'm curious what those of you who have followed the legendary journey of this wonderful bespangled accessory.

None of those people are depicted with chairs of any kind -- why assume they are not all in wheelchairs? :)
