It was a successful title defense for Brandeis today over NYU, and the b*lt still remains in Brandeis's hands until next Friday.

The original and replica b*lts are currently in the "virtual ESPNZone" for display while the Patriots play the Jaguars.  They will be back in the virtual Boston area tomorrow afternoon.

Next title defense for Brandeis:  Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 vs. Carnegie Mellon Tartans at Skibo Gym in Pittsburgh, PA.

A successful title defense on Friday will send the b*lts on to the virtual version of Rochester, NY-- where the Yellowjackets await.

deiscanton

The b*lts are now being virtually transported to Pittsburgh, PA, where they will be secured tonight for tomorrow's game.

I will not be present for the title defense(s) this weekend, so Coach Tabb will be wearing the "replica b*lt", at least for Friday's defense.

deiscanton

It was a successful title defense by Brandeis tonight, as the Judges def. the Tartans in Pittsburgh by a 60-48 score.

The b*lts will "virtually depart" Pittsburgh at 8 AM Eastern tomorrow to go on to Rochester, NY for Sunday's big title defense.

Down go the Judges!  Down go the Judges!

Rochester approcahes the bench and swipes the D-III Championship BeltTM right from under their powdered wigs, 74-68.  May the Big R covet and protect the BeltTM as passionately as Brandeis did.

I was not able to get to a computer with Internet access yesterday (I got updated by cell phone from Rochester on the title change), so I would like to send my congrats to Rochester on capturing the b*lts.

The replica b*lt is being kept at UAA Headquarters in nearby virtual Pittsford, NY, where it is up to Rochester now to decide on the security of the b*lts.  Treat and defend them well, Rochester, and I look forward to another chance to challenge for the Just Bill's b*lt later this season.

Like almost every visitor to Atlanta, it looks like the D-III Championship BeltTM turned right at the corner of Peachtree Av. and Peachtree St. , when it should have gone another block and turned left on Peachtree Ct., and ended up getting lost on Peachtree Blvd.  By the time it found its way, it's short-term owner had given it up for lost and skipped town.  So the BeltTM gets to spend the weekend (at least) visiting Underground Atlanta, Stone Mountain, and maybe even the World's Busiest Airport.

But watch out; I hear there's some nasties from Pittsboigh headed South as we speak, and they've got BeltTM on their minds.

I guess Rochester got 'belted', as it were!

I'm thinking someone should hook the belt up with some kind of frequent flyer miles program.

It may change hands a few times in the UAA. 8)

Who knows, with all of the things that deiscanton did to the B*lt while he had in that "virtual" universe that he created, he may have set up an account and is getting the miles for himself!

Emory with a succesfull defense today, no trip to Pittsburgh for the belt.  Real or virtual.

Brilliant!  I can picture the scene at the Atlanta airport.  Duffel bags scattered around outside the team bus with players frantically searching through them...

Rochester Coach:  "C'mon everybody keep looking.  It HAS to be here somewhere!  Let's retrace our steps.  We had it when we landed.  We had it at the hotel.  We had it when we went INTO Emory's gym.  And now it's gone.  I just don't get it."

Well, when the UR team was at the Atlanta airport, they were about to board a plane for Cleveland (to face Case Western Reserve), and anyone who knows anything about Cleveland knows that the words "sports" and "championship" don't work together there.  It's no wonder the BeltTM decided to stay in Atlanta!  :D

deiscanton

Well, old New York didn't want to wait until the Super Bowl on Sunday to start celebrating something.  They wanted to celebrate something tonight, and they got it.

The NYU Violets plucked the b*lt from right under Dooley the Emory skeleton's bony fingers tonight, and NYU is the new Just Bill's D3 Men's Basketball champion.

The b*lt will finally head off to Cleveland for NYU's first title defense on Sunday against Case.  Case has 2 consecutive chances now to try to take the b*lt from NYU, as the b*lt will return to New York for next Friday's UAA game no matter who gets it on Sunday.

David Collinge

Great news!  I finally get to see the BeltTM in person, up at Case on Sunday.  And it will be a history-making event; I may be the first person in history to approach a the bearer of a Championship Belt as it is paraded into the ring for a title defense, yell "you're going down, Violet!", and live to tell about it. :D
