Someone should seriously put together a belt and take it to Salem this year.

What if the team that has possession of the BeltTM isn't in the Final Four? Will we simply have to send Allen's replica BeltTM to Salem for display purposes, much like the Baseball Hall of Fame sends out memorabilia to distant venues as a part of its traveling exhibitions, with the understanding that it has to be returned to the rightful owner after Final Four weekend?

Near as I can figure, only Brandeis, Wash U, Chicago or NYU could be holding the BeltTM at the end of the regular season.  Brandeis and Wash U look like tournament locks, so they only chance of that happening is if Chicago or NYU hold it but get their bubble burst.

Of course, what selection committee could say no to a team led by a coach with colored rhinestones and gold leaf paint wrapped around his middle with high quality leather.

The belt has once again changed hands!

Brandeis has just defeated Carnegie Mellon by a score of 84-81 to capture the Just Bill's b*lt for the second time!

Brandeis will defend the belt this upcoming Friday at Wash U.

Wow. That means that if the Judges can stave off the Bears in St. Louis on Friday, I could actually have a chance to see the BeltTM on Sunday in Chicago's Ratner Center.

My bellybutton will be puckering and unpuckering all week in anticipation.

Hi everyone.  I'm new to this board, but a veteran of the CCIW board.  Wandered over here in search of possible info on tournament sites for this March and ran smack-dab into a nasty visual of Greg's midsection that I just didn't need this early in the morning.........Greg, I gave you positive karma and still haven't figured out why.

Hmmm, not a bad idea to virtually send the replica b*lt to Salem for display purposes.  I'll have to think about that-- after all, I can't have a good b*lt destroyed needlessly...

Anyway, the b*lts will be virtually flown out to St. Louis this afternoon and secured tonight for tomorrow's title defense.  Coach Tabb will be "virtually" wearing the replica b*lt at least for Friday.

I'll be on the computer from Boston checking out the game.

Tip-off time Friday is 6 PM Central time/7 PM Eastern.

PS-- My new computer is being shipped, but I don't know whether or not it will be installed in time for me to follow the NCAA D3 tournament from my house.

Why are the games played so much earlier at Wash U?

They aren't. Allen gave the starting time of the women's game (6) as opposed to the men's game at 8.

My apologies to everyone.  I mixed up the start time of the UAA doubleheader with the start time of the men's game.

Men's tipoff for the b*lt should be at approx. 8 PM Central/9 PM Eastern-- the women go first on Fridays.

PS-- I also didn't realize that a big snowstorm is hitting Boston this afternoon-- this will probably mean that I won't be able to have Internet access tonight, so hopefully a friend of mine will reach St. Louis today and I will be able to call him.  If not, I'll check back in on Saturday in the public library and find out the scores.

You might want to consider hanging it across from the visitor's bench in Carlson if it's got that kind of power.  Maybe that was the missing ingredient in what should have been a more productive Vikings season......

Any thoughts on who would win a Royal Rumble if that ever came to pass?  I picture the rumble as something like an Australian rugby match, with chicken wire added.  Of the teams I've seen play this year, Hampden-Sydney would be a candidate, and I hear NC Wesleyan would make a splash.  Player for player, H-S brings a lot of poundage to the table.  Last year's Johns Hopkins team would have made a respectable showing also.

B*lts are on their way to Chicago for Brandeis's next title defense.

Game v. Chicago is tomorrow (Sunday) at noon Central/1 PM Eastern.

Congrats to Brandeis on yesterday's successful title defense at Wash U.

If I've correctly calculated the calorie expenditure of belly-button puckering, Greg must be down about 13 pounds this week. ;)

It's just called "North Park University Gymnasium" -- the "Carlson" of "Carlson Crazies" is taken from the adjacent classroom building, Carlson Tower.

Wow, no wonder they haven't had time to upgrade that historic facility  -  they spent all their administrative time/creative juices coming up with that dynamic moniker!

Chicago has just defeated Brandeis to become the 6th UAA team to take possession of the Just Bill's b*lt this season.

The final today is Chicago 74, Brandeis 66 at the Ratner Center.

The original b*lt has just been surrendered to Chicago, while the replica b*lt has been surrendered to UAA personnel at the virtual Ratner Center.  The replica b*lt will be flown to virtual UAA Headquarters tonight for the remainder of the season.  The replica will probably be headed to a sports museum in the virtual Boston area at the end of the postseason.

The Just Bill's b*lt is now guaranteed to be defended in the NCAA tournament this year, with the winner of the Wash U at Chicago game next Saturday guaranteed to get the automatic bid out of the UAA to the NCAAs.
