That's the closest d3 school to my house.  I suppose I could pop over for a Belt clash!  (Probably not, though.)

If you mirror the logo, it's agonizingly close to being a state outline but it's not.

Mirror this logo?

I'm pretty sure that's intentionally a goose dressed up as Maryland......or vice versa.   Also possibly a goose runover by West Virginia

It appears on their floor at center court.

Turns out its pretty difficult to get a good picture of a purple goose but here's a better one of Gus

You can watch all The BeltTm action on Goose Nation TV

The empty space between the two wings is ALSO the outline of a goose head.

I cannot tell you how many times I miss a game on a teams schedule and wham The BeltTm goes to that team.

Muhlenberg Mules

I don't know about you but I suppose if you squint hard this doesn't look like a giant rat instead of a mule

Muhlenberg hosts Drew on Dec 7.

Chance to move it into the Landmark but Muhlenberg should be able to defend it.

That's definitely a rat.  And I'm puzzled at the way the rat is walking arm in arm with that gentleman.  They must do senior day ceremonies with a different kind of senior than I'm used to.

That's either a rat, or a kangaroo that really let himself go.

Pretty good The BeltTm tilt in 12 days as the 6-1 Mules travel to 6-2 DeSales.

DeSales has Frankie the Bulldog

The Bulldogs will keep The BeltTm through Christmas with their final seconds win over the Mules.

DeSales next game is home on Dec 29 to Ursinas, which is neither a planet or a very bad sinus infection.  They are the Bears or specifically a grizzly bear, which are very much not native to  Eastern Pennsyvania.  But they once had a live black bear as a mascot, which totally explains the Grizzlies part.

Anyway....here's Zachie

It escaped from Chuck E Cheese right?

The bear puts the ursine in Ursinus

One of my side reasons for doing way more than I ever should with The BeltTm stuff is that I try to learn something about each school as they come up.   For instance Ursinas was founded by members of the German Reformed Church who apparently had a real beef with the Lancaster Seminary accusing them of being heretical and thus wanted to create their own school.  Once founded they named the school after Zacharias Ursinas who I'm sure as a noted German theologian of his time almost 400 years ago would be thrilled to learn a stuffed bear is whimsically named after him.

But with my age I'll forget most of this by Thursday.

Gregory Sager

The bear is a logical mascot for Ursinus, since, as FCGriz alluded, the Latin word for "bear" is ursus, and the English adjective for things relating to bears is "ursine" (just as dog-related stuff is "canine", cat-related stuff is "feline", pig-related stuff is "porcine", with cattle it's "bovine", etc.)

In updating the map, I learned that yesterday's victory for DeSales was the first time The BeltTM had graced their campus. They're guaranteed to get at least one more BeltTM game regardless of the result against Ursinus due to the fact that that game is part of the Al Senavitis Memorial Tournament. I'm not sure who the other two participants are though.
