I am still proud of the LG's for at least having the belt for a week. Kind of like Buster Douglas!

Ding! Ding!

The first BeltTM defense of the year goes smoothly for the Pointers. A 20-point win over Balki's cousin Larry (University).

Ah, yes. The BeltTM appears to be inching closer to Pat Coleman. River Falls is nearly a suburb of the Twin Cities.  Perhaps it's being called closer to the D3Hoops poobah by unseen forces of nature

Might that be another sign of the end times?

A Texas (Hardin-Simmons) Women's Soccer team beat Messiah for the Championship in San Antonio yesterday.

Oregon is going to the BCS Championship Game.

The Texas Rangers (former Washington Senators) beat the New York Yankees to win the American League pennant.

I could go on and on.  It makes you wonder.

That brings the question... is there a Ladies Championship belt? ::)
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Certainly there could be, but we haven't been able to afford pink ropes and turnbuckles yet.

It occurred to me this morning that the current holders of the three big professional sports championships are the San Francisco Giants, the New Orleans Saints, and the Chicago Blackhawks.  If that's not a sign of the Apocalypse, I don't know what would be.

Even knowing your antipathy to the NBA (and personally being more a fan of the Red Wings than the Pistons), the LA Lakers might take issue with the NHL being the third 'big' professional sport! ;)

Ralph Turner

Yeah, the Celtics and the Lakers are of the old order.

The Lakers did defeat some unlikely characters, the Thunder, Jazz and Suns.

The Celtics beat the Heat, Cavaliers and Magic.

The Heat won in 2006;  the Super Sonics (Thunder) in 1979.

The NBA got close last season.

Maybe if the Cubbies or Indians from MLB or the Leafs from the NHL and keeping the Cleveland theme, how about the Browns from the NFL...  :-\   :P

BTW, that's basketball they play in the NBA?   ;D
