UW-River Falls wins their first BeltTM defense over UW-Eau Claire 75-71.

Wrong score my friend... they won 75-51.  This one wasn't close in the second half.

Ah.  A TKO and not a split decision.  All the better.

It doesn't look like there's much chance of the belt leaving the WIAC in the near future.

I'm always interested in ways the belt can miss the NCAA tournament - perhaps if Stout ends up with the Belt by Feb 15th and then surprisingly loses to Crown?

No confidence in Hamline or Macalester? (Checking W/L records...)  OK, no confidence in Hamline, then?

If UW-Oshkosh can grab the BeltTM on the 11th, they have four games coming up against four different conferences (IIAC, CCIW, MWC, NathCon).

Although I admit in that circumstance I'm worried about the BeltTM travelling to Las Vegas. Such a vaulable possession in a city so rich with temptation?  I can't imagine the horror of the D-III Championship BeltTM ending up under the bed of some cheap motel room rented by a call girl named Kiki.

Oh no, not that! :o  Crown is my entry in the winless pool! ;)

Kiki's got a heart of gold, though.

If anything could add to the lore of the BeltTM, it's a Vegas hooker named Kiki.

Close defense of The BeltTM at River Falls yesterday,

UWRF 56, UW-Platteville 53.

Darn you River Falls!!  The BeltTM thrives on chaos and instability and you've locked it down.  If you love something, set it free, RF. Set it free.

I may have to enter the secret vault and check the sacred archives.  UWRF might have the longest run of BeltTM defenses ever.

Greek Tragedy

Not to mention, River Falls' last three conference games are on the road.  They start at Stevens Point, then head to La Crosse and Platteville.  Oh, it's only La Crosse and Platteville, you say?  River Falls beat La Crosse by just 6 and then Platteville by 3, both at home in back to back game days in mid-January.  La Crosse has one of the best scorers in the league in Tony Mane and Platteville has the 2nd best scoring defense in the conference.
