Whitewater put their game faces on and retained The BeltTM with great defense.  Up next is a battle with Cabrini.

The real question is...

It all began in Minnesota.  Brief stops in Wisconsin and Washington and then a glorious winter enjoying some Southern California sunshine.  A quick hook-up with last summers fling and it was back to the land of cheese, beer and brats.

The BeltTM in its infinite lustrous glory has chosen Whitewater, Wisconsin as its summer destination.

What's not to love.

I wonder if this is the first time that The BeltTM has spent the entire season in one region.

I'd be a bit distraught if I was an IIAC fan. That league's the only circuit in the West Region that never got the chance to bask in the bedazzling luster this season.

I missed the UMAC team who contended for The BeltTM.  Thanks.

Oh, yeah. I keep forgetting that the UMAC is now a bona-fide member conference of D3. I guess that there is a reason after all for AO to keep posting on d3boards.com. ;)

Football's belt might move around a little bit now. This could be interesting.

I gave current "belt holder" Buff State the Facebook cover photo slot.

Now Alfred has the 'football' belt. Since the E8 is a tough league, this could be a case of the football belt not making the playoffs. I long for the day that happens in hoops!

It's nothing to lose sleep over, because the football belt never survives the winter. In fact, since it's made out of pepperoni pizza, it rarely survives more than a week; the current holders tend to eat it more often than not.

You're living in the past.  In the era of Alliance, the football belt was made of pepperoni pizza; now it is a string of cheese curds.  After six weeks of this season, I'm guessing it goes back to pizza; though UMHB looks mighty tough - what then: prairie oysters?! 8-)

Barbecue. You couldn't make it out of Texas chili, because the beans would slide right off the belt.

25 schools? No thanks. In this realm, there is only one true holder of The BeltTM. There's nothing here for second place. Not a CufflinkTM, not a PendantTM, not a GarterTM, nothing.

oh we're bonafide alright. Fully prepared to show our NCAA ID cards if asked.  If Whitewater can keep a clean sheet until the St. Norbert tourney (which NWC won a couple years ago), we'll get our shot.
