It's time.

It's been a long summer. The BeltTM has slumbered peacefully in southern Wisconsin. watching Ryan Braun and the Brewers. Pondering and ultimately declining to make a Presidential endorsement (tell me that wouldn't have caused a landslide victory either way.) But too much rest makes even a mythical strap of leather and baubles weary. Work must be done. There is praise and worship and awe from the peasants to be graciously accepted.

Sir, you may open the vault and reveal greatness...

Oh brave Buccaneers of Beloit (pirates are native to Wisconsin, right?) take a moment away from dodging the NFL's legal department. The year's first chance to touch immortality belongs to you.

Beloit came close to claiming the belt, but fell just short in Whitewater.  Aurora gets the next opportunity tonight... on neutral turf.

Greek Tragedy

Unlike Beloit, Aurora failed to put up much of a fight, going down 107-68.

Even the bright glow of an Aurora can not outshine those who hold the lustrous glory of The BeltTM

The BeltTM took a trip to Carthage, but decided to head back with the Warhawks as they hold on to win 74-69. Next stop, another CCIW venue in Illinois Wesleyan

Oh my!  I had been fretting over Tuesday's game just because I (foolishly, as the clock was ticking) chose IWU as my undefeated team in the Survivor Pool; I completely forgot it would be their shot at finally being anointed by The BeltTM!  DOUBLY Go Titans!!  Be worthy of selection!

The BeltTM was on display for all to marvel at in the Shirk Center tonight. Alas, all the Green Weenies could do WAS marvel at it because they couldn't claim it, as the Warhawks came back from an early 10 point deficit, to keep their claws on the fabled artifact. Down for the entire first half Whitewater closed to within 3 at the break. It took them 21 seconds of the 2nd half to knot up the score and 28 seconds later to grab a lead from which they would never trail for the rest of the contest. As the Warhawks' bus pulled out of Bloomington The BeltTM could be seen spread across the rear window with a nice, new, shiny, green bauble, smack dab in the center.

Next up for a chance to claim The BeltTM is the UW-Stout Blue Devils as the WIAC members get their chance to possess this wondrous treasure. The BeltTM will be hanging around the state of Wisconsin for the next few weeks and the earliest possibility of a trip to another state would be if UW-Eau Claire defeats Whitewater in their Dec. 8th matchup. Should that happen the Blugolds and The BeltTM will visit Ashford University, an NAIA school on Dec. 15th in Clinton, Iowa.

Well, we can't let those NAIA punks touch The Belt TM
Wabash Always Fights!

I believe that would be classified as a non title bout.....
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

The BeltTM does not deign to acknowledge such entities.

The Belt TM moves north to the Quandt trophy case after The Dawgs defeat Whitewater 72-61.

I think I can let the lack of superscript slide just this once. The trademark is still intact.

There's nothing like familiar surroundings and the BeltTM is very comfortable in the heart of Wisconsin potato country. I'm sure the vault was given a proper cleaning before the arrival of the The Great Bejeweled One.

Next challenger for the BeltTM... 2-7 Edgewood College. Unlikely? Certainly. But as I once heard an old man in a wand shop tell a young boy with a scar on his forehead, "The wizard does not choose the BeltTM, the BeltTM chooses the wizard." Or something like that.

And if Edgewood would somehow go all Avada Kedavra on the Pointers and claim the BeltTM, their next opponent....  UW-Whitewater.

12-21   UWSP vs St. Thomas, an excellent mid-season The BeltTM showdown

A little known Mayan prophecy located in Appendix B of the Mayan Calender states that the should the calender encounter an object of greater lustrous glory, all cosmic authority shall be granted to that lustrous object.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are about to enter The BeltTM Age
