Wonder if North Park could finish 8-6 and not make the Top 4 of the CCIW tournament.  Sager could die a happy alum.

I'm not quite sure how NPU missing the CCIW tourney with an 8-6 mark would make me "die a happy alum." Yes, it would mean that NPU would automatically hang on to The BeltTM for a year, but it's better to risk ItTM and lose ItTM (were that to happen) than to not risk ItTM and keep ItTM because the Vikings fell short of the larger goal.

After all, the ultimate prize is a Salem Civic Center net draped around The BeltTM, n'est ce pas?

You clearly have no understanding of the Belt's true nature.

This kind of blasphemy while in possession of the belttm is like watching a man juggling flaming tennis balls standing in a pool of gasoline while someone sneaks up behind him with an air horn.......on a busy freeway.....where all the drivers are blindfolded....driving Ford Pinto's....loaded with explosives.

You know whats going to happen, but you want to watch anyway.

Wasn't that an episode of Jackass?

Post of the year, and it's only February.

Greek Tragedy

Apparently,  The BeltTM likes Chicago. North Park has defended The BeltTM twice! I hope they have a chance to go to Greektown for some tasty eats!

2014-2015 Thee Most Exalted Bespangled CinctureTM itinerary

3-22-14  UW-Whitewater
12-10-15  Augustana
1-21-15  Illinois Wesleyan
1-24-15  Elmhurst
1-28-15  Augustana
1-31-15  North Park
2-11-15  Elmhurst

With the way the CCIWtm finishes I believe we're locked into the Belttm being in the CCIW Tournament and thus the NCAA Tournament.  No Sager on an innertube in Lake Michigan which is disappointing.

...Unless the Vikings from the Northside can take the Walnut and Bronze from Salem.

Like many generations from days past, Olde SparklyTM has spent some carefree time in the city but has decided it is time to settle down and move to to suburbs.  Perhaps the schools are better for the little BuckleTM.

Elmhurst 89, North Park 49.  The BeltTM is now nesting in West Suburban Chicago.

Gregory, hope you enjoyed the Good Timestm while they lasted. :)

He must also now update his signature of North Park national championships. 2015 baby.

We're overdue for a mascot photo

The Belttm in true The Belttm fashion has potentially stumbled on the one path that could result in a floating, smiling, Cub hat wearing Greg Sager.

The next contest is North Central at Elmhurst, should North Central win the Cardinals would not only capture The BeltTm but as a secondary prize would clinch the final spot in the CCIW Tournament.

North Central's last game is home vs................ NORTH PARK!!!

Greek Tragedy

So let me get this straight.  If North Central wins, North Park has a shot at The BeltTM but no shot at the CCIW tournament. If North Central loses (and North Park wins their game), North Park has a shot at the CCIW tournament but no shot at The BeltTM...

So it's obvious Sager will be cheering for North Central this weekend.

I suppose he can hope for an Elmhurst win and North Park winning out and getting their hands on The BeltTM via conference tournament championship.

Elmhurst beat North Central, clinching a CCIW tournament spot.  Elmhurst next plays at IWU who has also clinched a tournament spot, which means The BeltTm will make the NCAA Tournament.

As an aside, our dream of a floating Greg Sager is still alive with North Park able to clinch a CCIW tournament spot with a win over North Central and thus they would be this summers The BeltTm holders by winning the CCIW Tournament and the most improbable of National Championships.

So The BeltTM is now in Bloomington after Illinois Wesleyan dispatched Elmhurst 96-66 over the weekend, and given the vacuum of news from downstate Illinois, there are all kinds of rumors about what went down.  IWU was dedicating Denny Bridges court on Sunday, and many Titans from days of yore were in attendance.

It seems there was an unfortunate incident in which the Titan legacies passed The BeltTM from person to person, and things got out of hand when Coach Bridges was photographed standing in the center circle, using ItTM as a sort of hula hoop as old school Michael Jackson from circa The Wall pulsated through the arena.  Mercifully, JackTM SikmaTM was in attendance, and he helped to restore order, though not before foolheartedly trying to match The Belt'sTM power by brandishing his NBA championship ring.  The BeltTM was unimpressed and simply incorporated this simple bauble into ItsTM design.

The same two teams meet in Rock Island for the first round of the CCIW tournament on Friday, which I am thinking of as a sort of Ali-Frazier II given WhatTM is at stake.
