Quote from: sac on January 09, 2016, 10:46:29 PMRight now Vegas is putting the odds on the home Scots to take The BeltTm, the only question is does it go over or under the kilt.  That folks is something I don't want to know.

I think that if Alma wins Just Bill is going to have to get out the baubles and gewgaws and glue again to construct a D3 Championship SporranTM to go with the D3 Championship BeltTM.

The Alma Scots win The BeltTM by beating Hope 86-75!

Alma travels to Calvin on Saturday for their first defense of The BeltTM. I'll be sure to don my sunglasses lest I burn my retinas at the sight of ItsTM brilliance.

And don't forget that The BeltTM will be accompanied by his new brother, The SporranTM - you might need welder's goggles rather than just sunglasses! ;D

As previously mentioned, The BeltTm so liked the MIAA equivalent of Siberia that itTm has chosen to reside in the very deserving hands of the Alma Scots.  All hail William Wallace and such.

Hope held The BeltTm for 58 calendar days which is right up there near a record in number of in-season days holding The BeltTm.  I hope my friends from Holland were good hosts if nothing more than boring.

The Belt's next action will be Saturday in Grand Rapids and that other cute arena in West Michigan where the Scots will take on the Calvin Knights.

"Joust" Its gender neutral, no need for a SporranTm

If you're a little strapped for time, Bill, you can always order a nice pre-made sporran from sportkilt.com, and then do that voodoo that you do so well with the baubles, bangles, gewgaws, bling, etc., in order to transform it into The SporranTM. Och, it's gonnae be stoatin', lad!

Now perhaps we'll get the answer to the age-old question, What does a Scotsman wear under his D3 Championship BeltTM?

sac

Alma 86  Calvin 64   It was a pleasureTM to be there.

In a not so shocking result it appears The BeltTm has given us its opinion of gender neutrality, a sporranTm it is.  However in a quite shocking development, Alma has fans.....a somewhat a lot of them.......who get in cars.......and drive to games......and watch basketball......without talking too much about football.   The BeltTm has turned this old conference upside down.

The Scots carry The BeltTm proudly across our Southern border to Angola, Indiana where the Thunder of Trine await.

Alma 96  Trine 91 OT

Alma got its first true taste of Belttm drama when they nearly blew a 23 point lead last night in Angola, Indiana and rescued their precious Sporran covered private bits in overtime.

The Scots renew their own version of Ye Olde Rivals as the Britons from Albion invade the Art Smith Arena on Saturday.  No doubt this will be the biggest battle between these two since the Raid of the Redeswire and I'm not just saying that because I looked it up.

I say winner gets to rule all of Brittania for a fortnight.

Alma 75  Albion 64

Scots beat the Brits

Up next, the Scots host the Olivet Comets.  I would probably go watch them if a certain game of importance to me personally was not taking place on the same night.  I suspect there will be a lot of points scored.

I think I may have asked this before, but is there a log of the title history with dates of reign and teams. That would be interesting to look at.  :P

Sometimes I go back and read the first 4-5 pages of this thread and I think... what a ridiculous waste of time I created for all these people.

I feel like I might stop following if we ever end up with that magic year where the belt doesn't make the NCAA tournament.  I'm hoping for that every February.  One day it will happen.  Keep the faith.
