I feel like I might stop following if we ever end up with that magic year where the belt doesn't make the NCAA tournament.  I'm hoping for that every February.  One day it will happen.  Keep the faith.

I try to leave but...

Wow, Thanks Sac! I am awaiting (for a long time) for the Belt to be housed in the SUNYAC. The Closest was the brief stay in Rochester! We're going to need some big upsets in the NCAAs for this to ever happen.

Alma 91 Olivet ...not very many

The Scots host Kalmazoo on Saturday, there will also be a lot of points scored.

Sometimes I go back and read the first 4-5 pages of this thread and I think... what a ridiculous waste of time I created for all these people.

I can think of more expensive and illegal wastes of time. So, you've probably saved me money and possible jail time. For that, I thank you.  ;D

Alma 85  Kalamazoo 80

For the third time the now 1-18 Kalamazoo Hornets push one of the 2 best teams in the MIAA right to the brink.  I don't know, its just the way it is up here this year.  Alma will take The Belt TM on the road for the first time in two weeks as they travel to Adrian on Wednesday night to meet the Bulldogs.

"Bruiser"

Bruiser is the only live mascot in the MIAA1 even though I've never actually seen him, but I'm told he does exist.

He also comes in the more traditional mascot form...

......also in stone.

1   Unless you count that one guy who shows up at Hope games and is a dead ringer for "Dutch", complete with beard and hat from the last century no one wears except him.

Let's not pretend all colleges don't have a mascot stoned.

Alma 68  Adrian 63

The gist of last nights The BeltTm showdown in Adrian was, Alma had bus problems which forced them to cancel their JV game and arrive in Adrian later than normal.  Then they had opponent problems and had to fight hard to retain this glorious and lustrous of trophies.  On top of that the Scots have a pretty important game waiting for them on Saturday night the likes of which a couple of generations of Hope and Alma fans have never seen.....or dreamed of really.

The Scots sneak out of Adrian winners, grateful and humble The BeltTm wasn't more punishing to their fate.

At first glance I thought the mascot's shirt said 'beat Hope' rather than 'be at Hope'. :o

It was intentional.

A certain nearby school that will remain nameless wears shirts that read "Beat Hope"...
Hope students don't wear "Beat (said school)" for a list of reasons, so the (in my opinion clever) response has been "BE_AT HOPE"
