I was indeed.  The Royals student section's incessant chants still ring in my ears.  Good times! As an Augustana fan, I'm still awaiting a basketball championship.  Close calls, but no cigars!

Well, we got a 2nd in '83, but a drought since then, with only 1 Final 4 in '88. Augustana usually has that much tougher Midwest sectional to work their way through.

Wabash beat Augie in the quarterfinals in 1982 on our way to the title.

Thee is a LONG list of teams who doused Augie's championship dream on their own successful run to the championship.  Augie conquerers that won it all...

1975: Lemoyne-Owen
1976: Scranton
1981: Potsdam State
1982: Wabash
1993: Ohio Northern
2008: Washington U
2011: Saint Thomas
2014: UW-Whitewater
2015: UW-Stevens Point
2016: Saint Thomas

Not to mention six other times when the CCIW champion won it all, after leaving the Vikings behind.

I guess this means if you draw Augustana in the playoffs, your odds of winning it all are pretty strong.

Here we go again!!!

The BeltTm takes a pause this week as Hope taunts its NAIA neighbors a bit.  The next game with BeltTm implications is a juicy Tue. Nov. 29 game between Hope and John Carroll in University Heights, Ohio.

2016-17  BeltTm Path

The BeltTM is on ItsTM third league and third state of the season, and we haven't even hit Thanksgiving yet.

This could be a really wild and wooly year for Thee Most Exalted Bespangled CinctureTM, which apparently thinks that those of us who monitor ItsTM travels are growing complacent.

Taco BeltTm

You poor folks.  It is not available in most of the country.

Nothing beats Taco Bueno.  If the BeltTM gets back to Texas, then I hope it will take the opportunity to taste really good Tex-Mex.

The BeltTM still likes Holland.

Gregory Sager

... or ItTM hates Cleveland. I tend to lean towards the latter explanation. The BeltTM is a highly-refined and discriminating entity.

Up next... UW La Crosse travels to Devos Fieldhouse for a crack at The BeltTM.

The question is will Stryker and/or the Maroon Platoon make the 430 mile drive, as well?

Let's go Dutchmen!

Is that 430 miles with the ferry or without?

Alas, both the SS Badger (Manatowoc to Ludington) and the Lake Express (Milwaukee to Muskegon) are done for the season and will resume operation in the spring...

If this is a super old reference to a post of mine about a magic ferry from over 10 years ago, God bless.
