Yorkpa host Christopher Newport Saturday afternoon.  Yorkpa is riding a 14 game winning streak that includes capturing the greatest fictional trophy of all time which automatically increases the winning streak to like 28 games, CNU comes in 11-3 and boasting perhaps the best metal work mascot seen to date:

a fascinating statue with the small problem that the real Christopher Newport had only one arm.

Christopher Newport are not an upscale suit store but are the Captains and once upon a time I watched them play, well sorta, Hope in an NCAA tournament game that didn't go well for them.

This painting also showed him with two arms. Details, shmetails....

I though they'd be more of a insurance salesman - "In Hampton, see Christopher Newport for all of your auto and home insurance needs..."

It was as if Christopher Newport was playing with one arm tied behind his back.........<crickets>

It feels like longer but Yorkpa has only had The BeltTm for a shade over two weeks.  Wednesday they'll hike that sucker (not literally hike it, thats against The BeltTm security protocols) down to St. Mary's somewhere near Dave, but not really near Dave, in Maryland.

St. Mary's is the Seahawks, this fellow joins our ever growing list of bird victims in this years BeltTm quest.

I wonder if Yorkpa is attempting to bedazzle Thee Most Exalted CinctureTM with homemade bling:

I think I made two trips to St. Mary's when I was in the CAC. Seemed like a really long trip. I was surprised once I saw it on a map how it's not super far from everything, other than from major thoroughfares. 76 miles, but 2 hours.

Not motivated or elite enough apparently.

Mary Washington plays away Saturday at Salisbury who get another crack at The BeltTm and are still mascotted(is that a word?) by a bird.
