2019-20  The BeltTm path

3-9-19:  UW-Oshkosh
11-19-19: Carthage
12-7-19: Illinois Wesleyan
12-19-19:  Washington U
12-31-19:  Millikin
1-4-20:  Illinois Wesleyan

Remember that time Nebraska Wesleyan held The BeltTm forever?    This is fun.  Only 6 more CCIW's to go.

Five. This ain't football. ;)

9  Minus  3 (Carthage, IWU, Milliken)  =   6 (Augustana, Carroll, Elmhurst, North Central, North Park, Wheaton)   :)

You're right, it ain't football.   ;)

Gregory Sager

Yep. I miscounted.

On the other hand, you misspelled Millikin, so let's call it even. ;)

Titan Q

It seems legitimately plausible that 8 of 9 CCIW teams could hold The Belt by the end of the season.

sac

2-12 North Park beat North Central and Wheaton last year, if The BeltTm deems all 9 teams worthy it will happen.

I don't know what the normal yearly naming conventions are, but if the Weasels are willing to let it go after NCC's 82-69 win tonight...

There aren't many better moments than when you get to temporarily lose your vision because your team has won The BeltTm

Hey, I love that terrifying bird. I've got a couple pictures of him up in my basement, and my two and a half year old knows who he is, so he'll point at the pictures and go, "That's Chippy!" Hopefully Chippy's in attendance on Saturday, though whether he'll actually want to go high-five Chippy or something is up in the air (we're at the age where Santa was scary.)

And Chippy doesn't even give presents.

We had to convince him that Santa made an arrangement to have one of my cats bring his presents into the house, so it's debatable whether Santa gives presents either. :P

Anyway, I spent roughly the past week running through Ryan's old PDF from 2018 of The BeltTM Path, then using D3Hoops' archive of old schedules to rebuild... The MapTM. Some schools will have multiple entries on here between the Stealth Era and the Modern Era (you can select/deselect each era to declutter it a little bit). I still need to tweak a couple things from the Modern Era, but every school that has had possession or has played for ItTM in its home gym is represented, plus any neutral sites.

Valiant effort from the Pios... but not quite enough.

NCC 63, Carroll 55

The BeltTM can enjoy a Saturday night in downtown Naperville. Next up, North Central travels to Millikin on Wednesday.

And so that, children, is how the BeltTM came to disappear, Hoffa-like, behind a blue curtain, never to be heard from again.

lmitzel

Could explain how North Central managed another BeltTM defense, winning 76-66 at Millikin.

The Cardinals are off on Saturday, so their next defense will come on Wednesday the 22nd when they welcome Augie to Naperville.

(Illinois needs to hurry up and legalize sports betting; I want to open a book that specializes in Grey Giovanine Jacket Watch prop bets.)

Fifth and Putnam

I'll admit to being very new to this belt topic....but has anyone devised an idea where some of us D3 fans could pool some money together, get a nicely made belt with a D3hoops logo on it and actually make this a tangible fun thing teams carry around with them that passes from team to team?

Would teams buy into it?

Just throwing something at the wall here.

smedindy

The BeltTM IS tangible. ItTM hasn't decided to reveal itself to you!
